I think the sex scene between Mrs. Li and her husband is one of the best I've seen. It's unnecessarily conservative but still very sensual. It is weird to watch sex scenes with your mom though, although it is an important part of the story. But are the sex scenes really worse than + Show Spoiler + child rape and fetus eating

Will remember to watch these movies when I have time. Last memorable horror movie I saw was "The Orphanage".

first, i wanted to thank doctorhelvetica for this series of asian horror blogs- this is what got me into watching horror films. doctor, if you would continue writing these blogs, it'd be awesome!! second, having watched three extremes, i feel like i can better appreciate these reviews. i really enjoyed box and dumplings, though not so much cut. box was really nice because it didn't seem like a "horror" film in the traditional sense, but it still managed to disturb me a bit. in the end though, i loved the presentation of an interesting story, and to me, that's what draws me to these films. not because they are horror, but because they have interesting stories, and they just happen to be in the horror genre. i liked dumplings because it really goes into mrs li's mind, and shows through actions what she's thinking. the ending scene was absolutely insane, and you definitely are a bit freaked out by how much she really took to heart mei's statement: the more sinful the act, the more potent the effect. cut was sorta messed up i guess. but to me, it seemed closer to american horror because of its likeness to saw. not realy my thing but, the visual style was pretty cool.
