It's been a while since I posted anything here. School, work and Comic-Con took over. But now that most of those are done I've got plenty of free time. So it's been almost nothing but SC2. And work. I need monies.
Picked up SC2 the Friday after it came out. Because had I been in line my boyfriend and I would have spent our 2-year anniversary (July 27th <3 ) with him watching me play. It may have definitely been a day we would not forget.
So I've been playing campaign (I'm a strict no-MP-till-story-mode-is-done person) and I've been dealing with my post-Comic-Con high. I always dress up every year (Poison Ivy and the new Wonder Woman were this year) and I've always wanted to take on a big, months of planning and building but awesome in the end costume. SC2 was brought up one night with some friends of mine and it turns out we've all had that idea. So looks like we'll be working on a group of SC costumes for..a year from now! Blizzcon has been discussed. Baby steps.
I talked to my boyfriend about it and started sketching up my costume. Got some construction ideas while I did, and it helped a lot.
I linked this up during The Goatshow stream last night. Reception was positive and people caught on I draw Batman-style (big Bruce Timm fan).
I'm pretty stoked for this costume. The biggest issue would be (imo) the hair. I saw another girl who pulled it off and it looked...awesome. I even thought of maybe dressing as Kerrigan for 3 full days but get more infested-looking throughout. Though technically I would have to be in a chrysalis the whole time. As my boyfriend said 'Fuck canon'. We'll be documenting the whole process and the reason I'm sharing it here is because I think the best feedback would come from TL/the SC community. People who get it.
Also because you guys are pretty gosu.
A friend mentioned I may need to outsource some professional creative help, but I'd like to try as much as I can before I get desperate at the last minute and put an ad up on San Diego craigslist.
tl;dr Q.O.B. cosplay planning = broke as fuck

pics of you to see if you can pull it off
|
Yeah I know that trick.
No.
|
actually, it would make sense to show us a picture of you because kerrigan does have a pretty banging body. no offense but you would need a banging body as well to pull it off.
|
o.o Seriously that would be hard as hell to make, especially the wings :x.
|
haha I love the notes for her skeleton wings: "Wtf, I don't even"
|
She can pull it off.
Kind of a rude first comment, Timmy. Not that you care, I'm sure. Moving on.
My only concern is that the wings would need to be PRETTY strong and secure - There are a shit ton of people in Comic Con, they're bound to get run into/run into stuff themselves.
|
Yeah seriously, you're going to have a lot of trouble getting the wings right without sacrificing strength. They will almost undoubtedly be the toughest challenge. One possible fix (don't read unless you've got quite far in the campaign). + Show Spoiler +Kerrigan gets her wing cut off by Zeratul, I am aware she grows it back immediately, but it would be a nice fix to halve your problem.
|
I'm not far in. But I already know the wings will be heavy. I'm looking into a wonderflex foam covered in styrene option. I've seen that combo used for a lot of props. Sturdyness is also important to me so I'd ideally frame it first.
I've got time. We'll see!

Don't we all. It'd be like facehugger sex but probably worse.
|
Facehugger sex is just them face-fucking you and then proceeding to die.. I don't think it gets much worse than that. Especially because the child will burst out of your chest.
Good luck on your costume, looks like you'll need it.

Good luck with your cosplay. Don't know anything about it but I do hope it goes well.

Agree'd. While you may not want to think about infested sex, someone somewhere already is and probably likes it.

Rule 34 at its finest.
I don't see why you couldn't pull it off, you have a rather big time period to accomplish the project, you are inspired and got help from your friends.
Hopefully, we'll see an epic costume soon =)

Human Kerrigan would be easier, just some armor and hair dye (possibly)!
Oh and a big-ass rifle.
|
Inkarnate: I've seen a lot of people do a human Kerrigan variation. But I want the challenge. Also the badassery that goes with it.
