So I'm currently enrolled in summer classes and the semester is ending in two days. For a solid month now I've had to endure some kid in my class who just can't seem to STFU...ever.
Lectures, exams, quizzes...it's all a perfect opportunity in this guys mind to just blurt out random shit in an attempt to be funny.
Ok, ok. Once or twice might not be so bad. NO, this guy has the overwhelming need to say exactly what comes to mind at any given moment...several times a day. Our professor is a really old guy who just doesn't really seem to give a fuck anymore so any hope of him putting his foot down is lost.
For weeks now I've been secretly thinking about telling this kid flat out to STFU right in the middle of class but the awkwardness that would create doesn't sound appealing to me. It's hard to explain how badly I've wanted to slap this kid across the face for days on end.
Then, out of nowhere, a beacon of light. A candle flickering ever so brightly in the darkness. A ray of hope. This kid pulls out his laptop in the middle of class and starts playing SC2!
At first I'm like "I bet he frequents gosugamers." Then I mentally scream "YES THANK YOU GOD! After class I'm going to ask this motherfucker for his ID and identifier and totally own him! That will show him not to be a douche bag in class!"
So he starts playing the campaign and I'm so giddy at the prospect of utterly raping this turd that I'm completely ignoring the lecture.
There I am thinking about what strategies I'll employ to demolish this guy. "hmmm what's the most rape/owned/humiliating build I can think of?" "the stove sc2 version? nah too civil...nuke rush? hmm..not demeaning enough..."
In the middle of this I stop to actually look at his game play. He has about 6 scv's on minerals ~4 minutes into the game. For large periods of time he just looks at his scv's mining because we all know it requires the utmost attention. I imagined him thinking "If one of you fuckers goes rogue and stops mining I'll be right here to make your ass mine again...peasant! Muahahahaa!!!"
I can see the gears working in his head as he try's to figure out what genius strategic decision he should make next. "OH I'll make a refinery!" A minute after it's done there's still only one scv on it and still only 6 scv's mining minerals.
During my nerd rage critique of his gameplay, I suddenly stop and start to feel bad for the guy. "Aww, a poor little newb has appeared." I began to look at him the way you look at homeless people or a stray dog. If he had a cup I swear I would have thrown some change in there.
I decide to spare his life.
Class ends and I walk out feeling proud of myself for being the bigger man. Even though he was completely oblivious to my hatred for him or the severe beating (via sc2 of course) that he was going to receive, I felt like his future self was thanking me for being so merciful.
May the gods of SC2 bless me for my actions and may all of you show some kindness to the newbs of the world.
This should also serve as a lesson to you all...should you decide to be a huge faggot in class by being really loud, obnoxious, and playing SC2 during lecture, make sure a huge nerd with jim raynor dog tags/flash drive isn't sitting right behind you.

5/5
give me his id so i can rape him for you.
i'll make him think scvs are imbalanced.

I used to get into all kinds of trouble before university for the exact same behavior that you described, randomly cracking shitty jokes that few people enjoyed, but pissed of the majority, etc. Thankfully I matured, I guess
I would have obviously wiped the floor with you despite your dog-tag and flashdrive ROFL.

I hate those kinds of people. There was one in one of my classes this spring...
Well sort of. He had something to say for everything, but not to be funny. More to make himself look smart. No matter what the topic, he had some unique insight to add. Always incorrect and misinformed, but I'll be damned if he didn't say it anyway.
Good read though. I've always wanted to play a 6 worker player, and just kill one SCV. Will he rebuild it? Who knows!?

if you decide to play him motherships with probes plz, or z sunken rush hatchery in main, T hmmm nukes is the only thing i find humilating

The last sentence in your post made me seriously doubt you're not "that guy" anymore.

you sir did a great deed..a hero amongst men..bravo bravo

Oh god, this is a good way to smack down a Bronze guy. Well done.

Good post... I'm impressed that your decision to not confront him was out of pity as opposed to disgust - thats how I feel sometimes.
When I overhear people engaging in conversations about games that really I'm into (SCBW, SC2, WoW, D2), about 95% of the time I can tell they're much worse than me. The annoying part is they're acting like they're good at the game... and it makes my skin crawl.
Example: I'm at the mall on line, waiting for the SC2 midnight release, these two [censored] kids are behind me talking about SC2.
Kid 1: "Were you in the Beta?" Kid 2: "Yeah I got in the beta in early July, I was only in Bronze league though because Terran is such a weak race, its BS"
Kid 2 proceeds to talk about how he can't beat other races as Terran but wont switch to another race because he doesn't wanna be cheap. Bla Bla Bla Bla--marines are bad--Bla Bla Bla--Zealots are too strong, etc.
I'm dying to set him straight, but I don't even want to associate myself with that kind of trash so I stay quiet and endure it xD

I can control myself now, sometimes it's tempting - but you know, the uni is a different setting than high-school. So, wanna get your ass whoop'd by an annoying guy now, mr. gosu?
I just hope this post's 'less subtle' remark gets the message across, unlike my first response...

I'm gosu because I imply that I can beat a guy with 6 scv's mining. I'll be expecting my HDH invite any day now.

Oh dude, you're welcome to try. Get an EU account first, though. Naib.695
I wonder why I would need to be put in my place, though. Just because I'm not a condescending douchebag like the OP and some elitists who replied to this blog? Come on now, seriously.
Not that I agree with the guy's behaviour (as I explicitly stated, I'm glad I could change myself), but the OP is far more irritating to me.

Well, seems like it's hard to get a point across with you, sir. I simply meant to say that there's no need to act condescending towards someone because he's inferior at something you both do - there's always someone else to whom you'd look like how the 6 SCV dude looks to you.
I hope this time it was really, really clear.

I understand your point but I guess you decided to skip the whole part of the OP where I described how much of a douche bag the guy is. I wasn't being condescending because he sucks at SC...I as being condescending because he's an idiot.
Thanks for posting though because you've provided everyone perfect example of what a textbook jerkoff sounds like! Hopefully it gives readers a much more vivid picture of what I have to put up with.
