Right now I'm working on a cherry orchard out in BC, running the logistics department of a small cherry shed... I've been doing this type of thing for 5 years now and have enjoyed it immensely, both as a way of making money and a reason to travel.
In December, I plan to do the same thing out in New Zealand, working and travelling for a bit until I get a feel for what I feel like doing with my life. Now after february or so I'm somewhat lost as to what I want to do... more of the same types of work, seasonal and short term but I would love to hear some ideas about what's available in other parts of the world.
I was thinking about teaching English in China, since I'm studying up a bit of Mandarin right now so perhaps I can put it to use, but that's not really my kind of work. In cherry season I average at least 90 hours a week for 6 weeks... tons of stress and late nights but its definitely worth it... the people you meet and places you see are really amazing.
Anyways, can I hear some thoughts about where to go and what jobs are available in the seasonal department?
Also, on a side note, if anyone is interested in working a cherry season, feel free to PM me for more info.
