TL Arena kind of replaced TL Attack during Brood War, but its still not really the same. TL Arena is where you register to be a contestant and the "hero" accumulates handicaps as he wins. TL Attack is like where everyone joins a channel? and they just picked a random dude in the channel to play against the famous gamer

TeamLiquid Attack was a show where a couple teamliquid members (usually staff) would convince a well known foreigner (sea[shield] being the exception) to hop on battle.net and play people from the community. The two TL guys and the star player for the episode would hop on ventrillo and comment on the game being played and random other antics. This was all streamed by a designated observer. After each game the crew would move to a different channel that would be announced over the stream. Once the channel started to fill everyone would spam the channel trying to convince the player to pick them to play against. The accounts created and the witty lines created to try to sway the player were generally hillarious and the commentary just added to it. At the end of every episode, some well known IRCer's would hop on and play team melee against the one star player and the commentators. So in effect the one player had to beat one person who could do three things simultaneously. Torrents are not longer available but you can find most on youtube. Here are some clips: Intro: XiaoZi is hilarious:

I think it would be very fun, especially for the hordes of newbies that are just learning the game. I always perceived that it had a real success, though I admit I personally never followed the episodes too much.
