I may not be diamond league myself but I know many current TLers are and Diamond isn't necessarily an indication of HDH Invitational #1-level skill.

Also, invitationals get better viewership because people know most of the players.

Booking the games and coordinating them then casting - it all takes effort (even more so if the chat rooms stay out), and it'd be unpleasant surprise if HD and Husky would be spending their HDH time to cast a player doing 4 six-pools, because he get's Sen and knows that he wont win a macro game. And if he'd be just a lot worse mechanically, it would be even sadder (unless he gets to play against TLO in which case it's fun for us, possible humiliation for him. That's the problem with unknowns - they're unknown.

A couple of the RO4/Finals replays seem to be corrupt so I'm seeing if I can get full copies. Thanks! Wouldn't it be better to upload it to existing sc2 replay sites instead like http://www.sc2rc.com/ ? You can probably get in touch with the webmaster so they can take care of it for you. If you went that route, you might want to get in touch with fansites for some exclusive editorial features over the replay pack. I wouldnt be surprised if sites like 178 &17173 will leap over each over for a chance at it.

I'm sure those who win will be very much deserving a spot in the tourney, There are a lot of #1 Diamond players than get so high because they play absurd numbers of games. They are not necessarily better than any other Diamond players, win% is much more important imo. Also how would one go about contacting them?

The #1 goal is to get viewers, you get viewers with recognizable and consistent names. Someone brought it up already, but I wouldn't mind if they had qualifiers for, say, 4 spots. As long as the qualifiers actually bring in good players. They'd probably need to partner with some other group who is holding weekly or semi-weekly events and say we'll take your next 4 winners.

The way I see it is that it's all improvements for the tournament. The only downside is the extra work. If it was 100% qualification, and it had significant prize money (which it will), then it's like the TSL. The people that deserve to be there will qualify and most of them will be famous. Probably all of them will be people you've heard of before. But if some new people sneak in, there is value to that too. I'm sure HD and Husky will be able to hype it so that all the spectators can see the value in having a few new players mixed in too (especially when they're there because they survived a grueling qualification process).

If they can get consistent sponsorship, perhaps it would be better to just alternate between them. An HDH Invitational, and an HDH Open.

Maybe HD and Husky could team up with TL for more support?
