Schedule was released. Starcraft 'tutorial' will be 1:00 - 2:00 PM on the saturday. Wonder who's going to be teaching and if he's actually any good. Hopefully Aerials or someone notable? The tournament is from 2:00PM - 3:00PM.

Probably purchase the LAN ONLY pass, but what about others? I'll most likely be playing on my laptop + mouse (which is what I play with anyhow ^^) No idea who else is going o_O BUMP THREAD =D

A bit off-topic, but would any of you be interested in watching the MSL Finals together?

Furthermore, videogaming at Anime North is aimed at CASUAL players. This makes sense because 90% of the guys who show up are indeed casual gamers, and the aim is to appeal to as many con-goers as possible. Unfortunately, for those of you reading this topic, it means you should expect to be disappointed by the StarCraft event. I know the guys who run the fighting games and they are competitive gamers themselves, so you can count on them to host successful competitive tournaments, even if the entrants are largely casual players (since there's no fee to enter the tournament). However, I have no idea who is organizing this LAN. There wasn't any LAN last year and I think this might be the first LAN at Anime North ever, so I wouldn't be surprised if the organizers don't have any experience running a tournament at all. I mean hell, they scheduled 2 hours for a StarCraft tournament... seriously? It HAS to be 1-game single-elim, then (unless the organizers are completely clueless). In any case, anyone from TL planning on entering the tournament should expect to be disappointed. E.g. by "StarCraft Tutorial", they most likely mean instructions like "this is how you build zealots" and "this is how you attack-move". And I'd wager that the tournament maps will be official Blizzard maps only. On the upside, you'll probably be free to LAN with other guys from TLnet all day. You can also try playing other games without the pressure of having to be good at them. But honestly, it's not worth it to buy a ticket just to play LAN with a handful of other guys from TL. Just go to one of the Toronto LANs instead.

I'll be buying a LAN-only pass and hanging around in the LAN room. Most likely holding up a TL poster of some kind as I don't own a TL shirt. Watching the MSL would indeed be awesome. If the tutorial happens to be noob-friendly, then we can just play LAN games vs each other during that time. Or maybe teach the tutorial guy a thing or two. I would go to the Toronto LANs if my damn parents would let me >3>

I'm almost entirely sure you're just given a room to do LANs in all day. I don't think they're ousting people to feature any one particular game, but if so then we can move elsewhere and set up the gosu (comparitively) shop.
