Since the internet offers freedom of speech (+anonymity) in the most extreme degree, a great place like this has astronomically low chances of functioning if it were a democracy. A curiously good lesson learned here is that in parenting/teaching/leadership/supervising etc., some times dictatorship works best, to everyone's interests

I started playing SC around 99 I think and was part (and pretty active) of the Swiss community site "skilled.ch". At one point I stopped playing SC:BW for a long time, with a few comebacks every know and then. I have to add that i always sucked. I didn't have any idea about unit- strenghs, strategies and any of those important things. Sometime in 2008 I think, through my brother I started watching GomTV regularly and i started liking BW again. I didn't really play a lot, but I really enjoyed watching the pro- scene, of course also thanks to Tasteless. He always mentioned TL.net and after a couple broadcasts I visited the site, just for some minor things like maps and whatnot. It took a veeery long time until I figured out that there are a lot of streams on the site where I could watch games live. I also started watching and listening to Day[9] dailys on demand, just while playing WoW :s I learned a lot about strategy, mechanics etc. and I started playing again, following all the things I heard on streams or saw from pro- games. I don't want to say I'm good now, but I really enjoy the game like never before, we also started having some SC:BW lans with family&friends. Also one reason why TL.net is so important to me is that I'm jobless for many months now and I'm on this site for a big part of the day (and especially night^^) watching almost every stream. I don't even know what I'd do for that whole time without this beautiful site. So TL.net is not just some site to me, but a site that brought me back to my old favourite thing and has taken a big part in my daily life. Thanks alot Team`Liquid :D

edit: Teamliquid is an escape from my fear of failure. I will often go here because it is not only easy and convenient to read and post, it is also relaxing. I do not fear that I will fail in any way. It is also a contributing, though not the primary factor for this fear. It is in addition other things, but primarily teamliquid is the website where I most often escape to.

Its almost indescribable how the wide variety of talents, abilities, skills, and creativity of the myriad of posters at TL come together to produce interesting discussions, projects, tournaments, etc. simply for the benefit of others without thought of reward. It is, for me, the best website on the Net.

Even if I didn't watch every PL/OSL/MSL game possible (based on school schedule), follow along with recent BW news, read winners interviews, play fantasy proleague, bet on and discuss lineups of PL matches through liquibet, read fantastic writeups and coverage of everything happening in the scene including games worth watching that I missed, or partake in and observe the myriad of contests and events going on all the time... TL would still be my favourite site. Of course, I do do all of those things so that just makes it all the more fucking awesome.

TL is a place where I can find the most up-to-date news on progaming, watch streaming matches, read all the kooky threads that other forums would have, and post safely knowing that there is a benevolent (lulz) group of moderators and staff out there to watch over the place. TL is my mafia home, as well as the place where I can pretend to know how to code when I make my LR OPs. TL is one of the greatest sites in the world. Vive la TL, seriously.
