After a tired day after taking my last Final that took 3 hours and 10 pages of essay writing, I got back to my apartment and saw the door was opened. I looked at what item was on the floor and I saw Kerrigan's face. I looked closer and it seems that he got me Prima's Official Strategy Guide to Starcraft lol! He knows I play Starcraft time to time but he doesn't play it himself. It's the professional guide for starcraft, the Progamers are required a 3 hour intensive test on this material before they get their progaming license
I'll read you some pretty useful information from this strategy guide:
TvP Strategies: - If the Protoss are employing Arbiters, use a Yamato Cannon to take them out quickly and reveal cloaked units. - Upgraded Goliaths can butt heads effectively with a group of Scouts.
ZvT Strategies: -Hydralisks, the Zergs' bread-and-butter unit, can be effective in both ground and air attack and defense. A Zerg player without Hydralisks is a Zerg player who's probably losing.
PvT Strategies: -Fly an Arbiter behind enemy lines and have it use its Recall ability to bring in a group of Archons. Sit back and survey the carnage.
Protoss Tips: Gas it up! More than any other species, the Protoss rely on Vespene Gas to build their high-priced units. (Oh rly?)

Not excatly the best tips; Battlecruisers are terrible in TvP, as Protoss has masses of Dragoons at that stage of the game; EMPing the arbiters would be better. Also scouts are almost never used in PvT unless you're Bisu. Recalling archons would be pretty ineffective you wouldn't be able to squeeze many in there. Zerg needs more gas than Protoss for Ultralisks and Lurkers. These tips were probably made when the game was released and there wasn't much strategy

i assume you came to canada from romania, yes?

I know you were saying it as a joke but it wasn't funny enough for me to believe that it's a joke. I half believed you. :/
That is, until I read further lol

These tips were probably made when the game was released and there wasn't much strategy Protoss have several powerful/important units that take very few minerals. (HT/Archon/Arbiter/Observer.) Protoss will happily whore gas-intensive units if they can actually get the gas to do so.

lol @ all the people about to be trolled by the "tips" in the OP.

edit: When I read that progamers has an exam about this I was excited, finally I could probably get out of D- now. I am disappoint.

haha that's awesome
my housemate gave me some cookies with a thoughtful card

nobody gonna be trolled by those tips
though bcs can take out arbs in 1 hit

You'd think with how big SC is in Korea, there actually would be useful full length guides in bookstores. I guess all the people who could write them are either practicing 10 hours a day, or have hands that hurt too much after they've retired

Lol got to try the Yamato on an Arbiter sometime

The game is ever changing, so the task of writing a guide and getting it published would take so long that by the time it hits the shelves the strategy's may be outdated. Besides they don't need books when they can just listen to the commentators during real games.
That said they do have starcraft books to learn English. Also, I've got me a copy of that strategy guide, and that is probably the reason for my recent success in reaching b-.

My favourite strat they mentioned is:
"When both Comsat Stations and Yamato Cannons become available, use them together to take advantage of the Yamato's superior range. For example, to take out a Missile Turret, sweep the Missle Turret area with a Sensor Sweep, and then target it with a Yamato strike. The Battlecruiser will move in to take its shot while still outside the Missile Turret's range"

haha, i wanna see a bc yamato an arbiter in a progame. that would be freakin awesome (unless, ofc, it happens in flash v stork osl finals)!
that advice about golis vs scouts is actually really sound... this guide is really accurate

|
you forget how firebats go through zerglings and zealots LIKE A HOT KNIFE THROUGH BUTTER
edit: and if you make ten bcs and yamato correctly on a zerg, BOOM! the hive and the entire air defense network is gone!
|
but Terran is very imbalanced. Nerf Terran.

That's really sweet and thoughtful of your roommate; wish I had a friend/roommate like that. And the tips are just so funny!
