Don´t like them, but your playing was pretty good, none of that standard youtube ear-raping. I actually rehearsed that one COB song with all those sweeps in the beginning, but that was just part of my practising when I still used to do that.

I know I often keep my thumb on the middle of the back of the neck when shredding while every pro player seems to have their thumb looped over the top :\

I use to do it because it helped me know where my fingers were in relation to the strings, but I'm pretty sure proper technique is playing without anchoring. It really doesn't matter imo, just do what feels comfortable. Great job btw

I´m self taught too but when I started playing some FAST stuff my wrist got ripped apart. But yeah many guitarists do anchor so maybe it isn´t that dangerous to all. And sometimes you do that when muting the strings so it kinda sticks on. Yeah but I´m not talking about the frethand here. That thumb position is however also pretty important because when in wrong position your hand gets really easily tired and hurts.

God I love Follow the reaper. Keep it up! By the way you have big potential. I played classical guitar for alot of years but I can tell you are self-taught. Use a metronome to learn rhythm because you fall behind a couple of times That being said you are quite good to be honest. I would love to see you play more Bodom stuff

I hadn't thought about recording that, that might be interesting! On the other hand, since I have no singer and I never bothered to write lyrics the verses would prolly sound a little boring heh On September 27 2009 08:50 Foucault wrote: Props for doing a cover of Bodom when they still were good.
