 Oh yeah what scale do most metalheads solo on cause i know the "metal scale" is the minor harmonic but it doesn't sound like any of the metal songs i hear out there. Is it minor pentatonic? I wanna also get into playing this kind of metal. Got any songs you suggest i could start with? | ||

Got any songs you suggest i could start with? it depends on the band/genre but from what ive heard its either: 1) pentatonics (major and minor, some are also uber enough to omit the 3rds to get a nice suspended sound) 2)diatonics / diatonics based (major, minor, major modes) its hard because theres so many tensions and accidentals and random chromaticism but generally thats what i hear. metal isnt a genre where certain scales fit certain harmony so genrally you see lots of different scales / people not really using scales at all im sure lots of bands use other stuff like diminished and altered too though | ||
