I'm confused as what to say to this topic. Do you want to hear opinions? Encouragements? Or do you want to meet other artists... I'm not trying to pull you down or anything, just not sure what to say. I guess I like the piece, especially the colours, but I find the white blob in the middle a bit weird. Also I fully encourage if this is what you are capable of to continue creating art, as you seem to have an excellent grasp of what looks good!
But that's just me, I'm not at all an artist nor will I ever be one. So take it with a grain of salt.

That's a ridiculously good question - I don't even know why I posted. After contemplating it for a little bit though, I think I was hoping that some art discussion would spark a new-found interest and motivation for me. I guess what I'm looking for are some honest opinions, discussion, and also to meet people who are interested in the same type of art.
I used to be really really into this stuff when I was younger, but the interest kind of faded away. I feel like it's something worth pursuing and it is something I enjoy. I just haven't been able to get that interested in it again. I want to be able to get into the trance-like states I used to get in before where I would sit and work on something for over 7 hours at a time. There's far too many pieces I've started and never finished just because I've lost interest :/
Thanks for your comment

deverlight; the advice I can only think of is to just make some time, create a pleasant workplace and just get started doing something. I bet you didn't get in trance on your very first pieces and that it only came after a period of time playing with it. You might want to take an hour per day whenever you feel like it, and build on that when you start getting more motivated.
I have a hard time explaining this in english... In short my experience is, that when you really feel you want to do something, it is best to not force it, but to gently steer your efforts towards your goal. Eventually I hope you'll get back to where you were, and grow further from that!

well, IF YOURE LOOKING FOR CRITIQUE *evil laugh*
Well its okay the colors could use some work, little to simple would liksome c4ds in the mix, and having the vector focal be only one color doesn't draw attention to it. But considering yrs. ago it's quite nice, I like it.

Seems kind of generic with little or no creativity... and having 'fuzzy' edges on some of the shapes kind of contradict the 'crisp' nature of vector graphics

c4d's would ruin the vector - like look. There's too much white in the focal point and the colors would need some more twitching, it looks beginnerish though, i dont know why, maybe because of the colors and the lack of depth.
To untrained eyes it should look cool though, everyone with a little to none photoshop skill can make stuff that will look super cool to people not familiar with graphics and art so if you're aiming to post it into tl.net you will get good reviews and replies but if you post it into a graphics forum you will get a LOT of criticism and replies you dont want to see :D

Too generic for my tastes, need more originality. The pic doesn't much meaning in it. Good effort though, and it's certainly a lot better than i could do.

I don't mind critique and peoples' honest opinions. It's my belief that art is something that should be enjoyed by everyone. I don't think you should need to have an extensive background-knowledge in graphics to enjoy a piece - though I definitely know what you mean
What good graphics forums are there? I haven't looked recently but I remember searching for a good one a few years ago and I never could find one that was very good. In all of the ones I checked out, the styles were not quite to my taste, it wasn't very active, or it was overrun by trolls and memes.
Depthcore puts out some quality stuff. I really liked Oxygenetic before they disappeared and of course The Luminarium
