So finally, after many years of looking to how to host games on battlnet I decided to stop reading and start messing around with my router.
I did what most people have been doing, port forwarding tcp/udp 6112-6112 and i disabled my windows firewall and OMG I CAN HOST.
Thing is, I didn't tell my Uncle that I was going to be doing this and he disapproves of my playing video games so..lets just hope he doesn't find out that I made this small change. I checked if the router page sends log emails back to the admin and it doesn't *phew*. I cleared the logs for the last couple hours so all clear there. Only thing left is for no one to actually click on the link and see oh what's this (of course i didn't name it "starcraft" I called it Default) and then ask me what the fuck i'm doing.
Anyways, I'm pretty happy it got it to work. Can't believe that worked. Hell yes! Just hope it's consistent >.<
Yay!

Congrats

I've tried forwarding ports and disabling firewalls and people still have high lat to me like 9 out of 10 times. It's so lame, I think it's something to do with my isp or some other software running on my comp but I had to pretty much give up trying to host games until I get a new router or redo my network cuz I've tried pretty much everything.

I'm in the same situation as LuckyFool I've tried so many times, forwarding the ports in different orders and what-not but..

to gosu or something along those lines
it could be the router, you check to see if the router has a separate fire wall?

Congrats man!
Sadly my router is practically retarted, I port-forwarded all ports from 6112 to 6119 tcp/udp and I still can't host. If I remove the router I can host though but that's not exactly a good idea since my brother will be prolly raging at me because he couldn't play dota.

Ok guys... For those who still can't host, im not sure but i think i can help you out.. The thing you need to put your router under NAT2 .. You need to work out with Telnet.. Pm Me back

I'm in the same situation as everybody else who posted here. On day I'll figure it out and it will be a great day!

Didn't work for me. At least I can still join games. Alas, woe is me.

Yeah I've checked tons of stuff and there are separate firewalls, as far as I know I've disabled all of them but it's still useless. I've since turned them back on because it's pointless to leave all firewalls off if I can't host anyway.

Congratulations!
Having to find others to make and/or joining games only on iCCup is a pain. I always create my own games.

Sometimes connecting to the Ethernet directly I've heard works too. Thanks Thanks ^^
I have a dream that one day Bnet will not have these shitty problems and everyone can host (Bnet2.0? hopefully)
fuck i just went 1-3 for the day.

It's not that hard. It's ports or firewalls, it's not anything else.
|
I did the port forwarding thing, I can even have multiple computers with one external IP in the same game with other people, but roughly 1/30 people still get high latency trying to join my games.
There are a lot of people who can't host though, every clan war there's 1 or 2 people on the other team that can't host.

I did the portforward also, but it didn't work for me. Anybody else having problems with Verizon FiOS and hosting? :/

OK SO, the most AMAZING thing just happened. After reading this thread, I thought "meh, why not fuck around with my router a little more" and now, for the first time I didn't follow portforward.com, and I fucking FIXED IT!! So awesome. I CAN HOST NOW TOO :D

WTF is with people having parents that dont want them playing any sort of games.

DUDE YESS JOIN THE CLUB that's like exactly what I did. Kid's just screw around with your router and you'll get it to work

Ahahah YES! This happened with me recently :D The ports weren't the whole thing for me though, it was craaazy ~.~ I could join games, but I could only play with the host. If there was someone else in the game it would lag terribly and I couldn't see what anyone but the host typed. Also, after a while my lag would somehow drop the extra players, leaving only me and the host. And I couldn't DL maps unless there was nobody else in the game as well
