BeSt: "I want to continue producing quality games."
"I decided to aim for an eighty instead of a full hundred."
"I decided to aim for an eighty instead of a full hundred."
SKT1's 'Monster Protoss' BeSt displayed his trademark macro and ran over Samsung Khan's firebathero, recording his 29th win of the season.
The following is the interview with BeSt.
- Your thoughts on your win?
▲ Our target is to be first, so we hoped that CJ defeated Hwaseung today. We are now 2nd rank, but we still have a long way to go.
- You showed great macro today.
▲ I think I played okay today. But it isn't as good as last time. I want to continue producing quality games.
- What did you do after you found out that you were facing firebathero?
▲ If you add in non-official matches, I am ahead of him 5:0, so I was very confident. However, I was still slightly nervous and the map favored Terran too, so I practiced hard.
- With your recent elimination in the OSL, things haven't been looking so good for you lately.
▲ I don't think there was any special reason. I increased my practice hours, but my results didn't get any better so I got worried. I discussed this with my coach, and he told me to just focus on playing 80% for now instead of trying to play 100%. I then thought that it was more important to win a satisfactory match instead of trying to show 100% of what I could do.
- You delivered a critical blow to firebathero with just one single attack.
▲ I defended his attack with ease right from the start. If the Terran player expands a lot, it gets difficult for him to defend all his expansions. I gained quite a lot through recalls, and my opponent's upgrades weren't that high. He had +1 attack upgrade, while I had +2 attack upgrade.
- Do you think you can record 30 wins next week?
▲ Our player pool has gotten much deeper, so I have to get it into the entry first. If I get sent out, I will definitely record my 30th win.
- Any final words?
▲ My parents hardly call me as they are afraid that they will disturb my training. But after I was eliminated from the OSL, they called me. I think they are worrying a lot, but I wish to tell them not to worry so much.

Fantasy: "I won an exciting match so I am even more happy."
"Constantly thinking that I was ahead helped me to win."
"Constantly thinking that I was ahead helped me to win."
SKT1's 'Master of Vultures' fantasy displayed his strength against Protoss, defeating Samsung Khan's JangBi.
The following is the interview with Fantasy.
- Your thoughts on winning a great game?
▲ The game was very chaotic. I just built my buildings anyhow, my supply was blocked many times and I lost units unnecessarily. But when I came out after the game ended, my teammates were very excited about the game. They told me I played well even when I was at a disadvantage. Upon hearing that, I felt very happy, and because I won such an exciting game, I am even more happy.
- You didn't start off well.
▲ I was faced with a very bad situation which I had never faced even during my practice. But I still think I managed to defend well, given the circumstances. In the past, I would have been shaken heavily, but I am now experienced and played many live games, and I was quite warmed up as well.
- Your siege mode upgrade was late, and you faced a very dangerous moment.
▲ I had confidence that I would be able to defend with just micro alone. I did not go for the siege mode upgrade because I wanted to go on the offense right after defending against my opponent's attack. If I went for the siege mode upgrade, I could have played a safer but less exciting game.
- When did you feel that you had won?
▲ When I went to strike at my opponent's main, he went for my expansion. When I defended against his attack and saved my command center, I felt really good. I thought I was in a fairly good situation, but my teammates told me after my game that I was at a disadvantage. I scanned, and felt that I was in a good situation, and I also felt that I was better off, management-wise.
- It seems that thinking that you were ahead helped you greatly.
▲ If I had thought that I was behind, I might have gotten more desperate. Thinking that I was ahead helped me to play the game with a clear head.
- You are being noted for your top-class TvP.
▲ I am very grateful for that. But recently, instead of TvP, I seem to be able to play TvT and TvZ better. I want to show more TvTs and TvZs. Also, my TvT and TvZ records are better during practice (than TvP).
- When do you think SK Telecom can be first?
▲ I think it'll take us just 2 to 3 more matches. Until we become first, no matter how well the current number 1 team is performing, it is important that we win all our matches.
- Any final words?
▲ I said in an earlier interview that I had a digestive problem. After hearing that, my mother got overly worried. It is not too serious, so I hope she does not worry too much. I think that she is worrying too much because we are living far apart, but I am doing well at the moment, so I hope she stops worrying so much.

[center]Bisu: "I won with the help of my teammates."
"I was angry and ashamed at myself for my loss in the fourth set."
SKT1's 'The Revolutionist' Bisu made up for his loss in the 'Taek-Bang-Rok' by winning in the 'Taek-Heo-Rok', giving Jangbi 2 losses in a single day.
The following is the interview with Bisu.
- Your thoughts on winning a game after losing one?
▲ Because I lost in the fourth set, I swore to myself that I cannot lose twice in a single day. If I lost twice, I felt that I would lose my momentum, so I played to the fullest. The results turned out to be good, and because our team climbed up to number 2 in the rankings, I am glad.
- Your loss in the 'Taek-Bang-Rok' in the fourth set must have been disappointing.
▲ It was a very important game. I was very confident after my practice. But Stork hyung also prepared hard. Our position spawning was good for him to harass me. That is why I was shaken heavily by his harassment. I lost without being able to do anything, so I was very angry and embarrassed at myself.
- Were you sent out in the ace match because you requested for it?
▲ My coach told me to settle the score, and sent me out. Upon hearing that, I felt that I definitely cannot lose. My teammates supported me heavily.
- Did you not want a 'Taek-Bang-Rok' rematch in the ace match?
▲ I was confident on Neo Medusa, so I wanted Stork to play again. But since Jangbi had lost a game earlier, I think Samsung sent him out for the same reason too.
- You are ahead in head-to-head score against Jangbi, so you must have felt confident after seeing who you were facing in the ace match.
▲ I don't pay much attention to head-to-head scores. Jangbi doesn't get swayed by such things, and plays very well. I think that both of us are evenly-skilled. We even had a small conversation before the match, telling each other that 'one of us are going back with 2 losses tonight'.
- When did you feel that you had won in the ace match?
▲ It was when I destroyed his back expansion and defended against his attack. But Jangbi tried to focus his economy on army production by cutting probes. However, my early game unit micro was better.
- You are showing over 80% win rate.
▲ It isn't anything special. I am just trying my best for my team. If I still manage to maintain a 80% win rate by the end of the season, then I think I have played well. I still might lose a few games, so I am not paying too much attention to it.
- Any final words?
▲ I won today with the help of my teammates. After my loss in the fourth set, I was comforted a lot by my teammates. I did not know I will be sent out in the ace match, so I am thankful towards my coaching staff for giving me the chance to redeem myself. I will work harder in the future so that we'll end off the season in first place.
