"Nowadays, it's fun to play matches."
eSTRO's hyvaa defeated Woongjin Stars' ZerO with impressive mutalisk micro in the first set, held on the 25th of May, 2009 at the Munraedong MBCHero Center.
The following is the interview with Hyvaa.
- Your thoughts on your victory over ZerO?
▲ I am content because our team won our last match of the round. I am glad that I contributed to the win.
- There is a competition for who plays the best ZvZ. Do you feel anything?
▲ Honestly speaking, I did not know it was a much-anticipated match. Since it was, I feel better. And also, I won that match, so I feel even better. I have been building up my confidence in facing zergs lately, so I am always practicing with lightheartedness. I thin that led to today's result.
- Does your practice mainly revolve around micro?
▲ It goes without saying that micro improves through lots of practice. But it depends on your condition and situation on the day you are playing. Honestly speaking, other than Jaedong, I think everyone's mutalisk micro is the same. That is why I played with confidence today, and focused on preparing a good build instead of practicing micro for today.
- Your results in Round 3 were good, so did you feel pressured in Round 4?
▲ I think that because my results have been good lately, I did not feel pressured at all. I just enjoy my practices, and I enjoy playing matches. In Round 3, luck was more or less on my side. But in Round 4, I discovered my own gaming pace. I think that my results have been good lately because I enjoy playing.
- The main players (in your team) have been playing more often. Did you feel tired or anything?
▲ In the past, I was burdened because I was sent out so many times, but in Round 3, as my results got better, I started to enjoy playing games. When I lost, I was burdened about being continued to be sent out, but my results have been great lately, so I don't feel burdened at all, and I feel good.
- What is your target for the season?
▲ I am not interested in stacking up wins. But I want to at least get my winning rate to 60%. That way, I'll at least be remembered as a good player. Lately, I enjoy playing games, so if I work a bit harder, I am definitely able to produce good results.
- Any final words?
▲ I want to say thanks to the players who've helped me with practice. I especially practice a lot with Samsung Khan's great, but he hasn't been performing well lately so I'm worried. He has always been working hard, so I believe he will produce good results. Also, today is my mother's birthday, and I want to tell her that I love her.
+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Sangho] +
Sangho: "We feel proud of the nickname 'Shin Trio'."
"It all went according to plan."
"It all went according to plan."
eSTRO's SangHo defeated Woongjin Stars' MVP with a proxy gate and great tactical play in the second set, held on the 25th of May, 2009 at the Munraedong MBCHero Center.
The following is the interview with Sangho.
- You showed great play today. Are you satisfied?
▲ It all went according to plan, so content-wise, I am happy. I think everything went well. I dealt a lot of damage with the proxy gate, and everything went according to plan so the game went exactly as I thought. I was slightly more disadvantaged as when I tried this during practice, but I was able to win in the end because I was ahead of my opponent.
- You have been using strategic plays a lot against Terrans lately.
▲ On new maps, there are no play datas for both my opponents and I, so I wanted to play by my own style. I wanted to catch my opponent off guard and try many different plays.
- Does that mean you prepare many things for your games?
▲ That's right. I don't just practice for standard games, but I also practice all-in and strategic builds. That way, I can choose the best build to use against my opponent's playing style, and I'm working on that.
- All the members of the 'Shin Trio' won today.
▲ We feel good. We like the 'Shin Trio' nickname, and we are also getting proud of it. In order not to become complacent because of the nickname, we feel we have to work harder.
- There are many 'shin's in your team. Are you all related by blood?
▲ None at all (laughs). Frankly speaking, I think our team has a lot of 'shin's.
- How would you rate your own performance in Round 4?
▲ I felt that if I win, our team will win, and if I lose, our team will lose. The results showed that to be true, so I am trying to work harder. There have been cases where my recent games didn't go all that well, but I am trying hard to produce good results. I will look back at my good performance in Round 1 and 2, and end off well in Round 5.
+ Show Spoiler [Interview with UpMagic] +
UpMagic: "When the mine dae-bak occured, I knew I had won."
"I will put on an even better performance in Round 5."
"I will put on an even better performance in Round 5."
eSTRO's UpMaGiC defeated Woongjin Stars' GuemChi with fast tech and great defense in the third set, held on the 25th of May, 2009 at the Munraedong MBCHero Center, sealing his team's victory.
The following is the interview with UpMagic.
- Your thoughts on your win today?
▲ I am satisfied that overall, I performed better in Round 4 than in Round 3, but I am slightly pressured by the thought that I have to do better in Round 5.
- So, do you feel satisfied with your performance in Round 4?
▲ I slumped in Round 3, but I played well in Round 4, so I am satisfied. I have to work harder for the next round.
- Your played very aggressively.
▲ I did not have any special strategy prepared. I could only practice hard, and play according to how I had practiced. I knew that as long as my opponent didn't go double nexus, I would win.
- How did you feel when the mine dae-bak occurred?
▲ I felt good. Honestly speaking, there were many dragoons at that point of time so I thought he would break through, but luckily a mine dae-bak occurred. I felt good. At that moment, I knew I had won.
- You seemed to be shaken a bit towards the end.
▲ I lost a lot of SCVs to the reaver harassment and there was a period of danger, but I just pushed forward with my remaining army, and I was able to take the win.
- In Round 4, the 'Shin Trio' and Really have been sent out every time. Was it effective?
▲ It was. As I was sent out many times, my games against Protoss has stepped up, and it reflects well on my record.
- eSTRO has been getting stronger. What do you have to say about this?
▲ Our players now just lack around 2%. If we cover that, we can definitely get into the top half of the rankings. In the next season, we will definitely work hard and get into the top half of the ranks.
- Any final words?
▲ eSTRO fighting!
