Guess who~?
go.go: "I can start fooling around once again."
"I practiced a lot, so I was somehow at ease."
"I practiced a lot, so I was somehow at ease."
Hite's "Naughty Kid" go.go has finally qualified for his first ever entry into the OSL Round of 16.
He defeated Samsung Khan's Juni and KTF MagicNs' Luxury in a row to advance from his Group D of the 2009 Bacchus Starleague, held on the 15th of May. go.go, who was always eliminated at the Round of 36, defeated two zergs and finally secured a spot in the group selection stage.
- Your thoughts on your first ever OSL Round of 16 qualification?
▲ I have finally made it. I am very happy. I always thought (of today) before I slept. I practiced until 2 am yesterday, and because I was still nervous (about today), I couldn't sleep until 4 am. I didn't play a lot in the Proleague, and my team gave way to me. I practiced a lot, so I was somehow at ease.
- You played all 5 matches similarly.
▲ I thought it would be convenient for me if there were 2 zergs in my group. But I realised during practice that it was in fact, tougher. That is why I just played the same builds. Luxury watched my first match (against Juni), so I played some mind games.
- Your first vulture almost always did its job well.
▲ I was lucky today, and most of the time my vultures were able to run-by. I made it for early defense against Zerglings.
- You went for a trendy build.
▲ Not so long ago, the '1 barracks double command' build was the trend, but recently the maps were Zerg-favored, so it wasn't that good a build. Actually, I like strategic and casual play, and the recent change in TvZ has changed to something that suits me well.
- You faced your ex-teammate Luxury in the 2nd round.
▲ As time passed, I thought less and less of him as a teammate. We are on very close terms, and I knew that very well, so I played with my mind at ease.
- Before the game started, Um Jae Gyung commentator said that players' weakness when facing newcomers was that they'll let their guard down and play.
▲ If my opponent had a lower name value than me, I often let my guard down. Um Jae Gyung commentator knew me from a long time ago, so it seems he knows me very well. He showed a lot of concern for me, so I am grateful. I want to say I love him (T/L note: No, not that gay love.). I think he looks after me a lot.
- We remember you once said after your Survivor Tournament game in an interview that you will "have to be more humble due to your lack of skills".
▲ I think I can fool around once again (laughs). There was so little I did all these while. Now that I have qualified for the Round of 16, I will regain my old mindset and play better games.
- This will be the first time you'll be participating in the group selection stage.
▲ I think it'll be very fun. I think my name value is the least. I am honored and happy to be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other players who play better than me.
- Your target for the Round of 16?
▲ I am too happy right now, so I don't really know what's my target. I just hope that Best qualifies.
- Why are you hoping for Best's qualification?
▲ Best is a very good player. Also, there was something I did to him in-game, and there was something he did to me in-game as well. After that, we never faced each other again. I want to face him in the OSL Round of 16.
- Any final words?
▲ After each game ended, my manager and Ju Jin Chul coach gave me many great advice. They were of great help, and I am grateful. I want to say thanks to YellOw[ArnC], HoGiL, Clay, eSTRO's hyvaa and MBCGame's Saint for helping me with practice. There is one more player, but I forgot who he was. Once I return to my training house, I will treat everyone who helped me with practice to a meal. I hope they have not eaten their dinner when they've read this interview. My parents must have been very nervous as they watched my games. I am thankful for their never-ending support. I also want to say thanks to my fans who support me as always.
