The 'Red Sniper' Hwasin has managed to successfully qualify for his 8th consecutive MSL.
Hwasin managed to defeat both Child and Rumble consecutively to qualify for the next MSL, in the matches for the 2009 MSL Survivor Tournament Group 3, held on the 16th on April. Showing both great bionic and mechanic play, he has shown his strength against Zergs, and managed to qualify for his 8th consecutive MSL, making this also his 8th overall MSL qualification.
The following is the interview with Hwasin.
- Your thoughts on your MSL qualification.
▲ I don't really feel much, because I felt that I had to advance. I am too used to qualifying (laughs).
- The waiting time was very long. Did it affect your (playing) condition?
▲ Thankfully the practice room was not too far away, so there was no problem with my (playing) condition. It's just that the waiting time was too long, so I was very bored. I kept thinking of ways to end my matches quicker. There were no games against Terran, so I thought that the matches won't take too long.
- You defeated two Zergs to qualify. Are you confident?
▲ Recently I lost to a lot of Zergs. I almost lost confidence, but I managed to defeat Zergs two days in a row, so I feel good and confident once more.
- Your thoughts on the changed Survivor Tournament layout?
▲ I personally want things to end quickly. I feel that (this new layout) is too draggy. There is a good point, which is that there is nobody eliminated in one day, but I feel that the fans want the games to come to a conclusion quickly too (laughs). I don't like the Survivor Tournament, so I practiced hard to qualify in one shot.
- This is your 8th MSL qualification, so you must be eying for the MSL title this time round.
▲ I feel tired, and I wonder if the same goes for my fans. My aim for this season is not winning the MSL title, but to show my fans my own playing style every game. I believe that by playing with such mindset, I will slowly get closer to the title. I want to play more exciting games.
- Any final words?
▲ I want to say 'thanks for all the hard work' to all the players, audience and reporters who have waited so long. I personally felt disappointed because I want the games to end quicker. I am very close to Child, so I hope he qualifies in his next games.

Skyhigh: I feel that no matter who is my opponent, I will be able to defeat him.
"I want to be seeded by getting into the quarterfinals."
"I want to be seeded by getting into the quarterfinals."
Skyhigh has continued his great momentum from the reverse all-kill he performed in the Winner's League finals by qualifying for this season's MSL.
sKyHigh defeated both Hyuk and 'Ultimate Weapon' Flash consecutively to qualify for his first MSL since his debut, in the matches for the 2009 MSL Survivor Tournament Group 4, held on the 16th on April, with Skyhigh being very happy with the outcome. Skyhigh, who is being labeled as CJ Entus' 'next generation ace player', even defeated the current strongest Terran, Flash, boasting his rapid improvement.
The following is the interview with Skyhigh.
- Your thoughts on your first MSL qualification.
▲ I managed to pass the preliminaries on the MBC's side three times, but this is my first time qualifying for the MSL itself. I feel very good to have qualified this time.
- Did you prepare especially hard for your game against Flash?
▲ I focused more on my first game instead. I did not know who would be my second opponent, so I focused more on the opponent who I knew I was sure to face.
- You seemed shaky mid-game in your game against Flash.
▲ Rather than being shaken, I felt that I was at a disadvantage. But when I looked at the game again, I felt that I could still mange (laughs). My mistake was constantly losing more units than I killed.
- You seemed faster than the 'Lee Yung Ho of Speed'
▲ I felt that my games went smoothly today. My playing style is aggressive, so I felt that my playing style really shined in this game.
- You seem different after you performed the reverse all-kill in the Winner's League finals.
▲ The Winner's League finals helped me a lot by giving me a lot of confidence. Even if my opponent was a strong player, I stopped worrying about 'what should I do to win?' Now I feel that no matter who is my opponent, I will be able to defeat him.
- Is there any specific player you want to face in the MSL?
▲ I don't really have any specific player I want to face. I will just play the games as they come.
- Your target for this MSL, and your last words?
▲ This is the first time I have qualified for an individual league, so I think that I will be able to practice even harder. I want to climb up as high as possible. I hope to get into the quarterfinals and get seeded.
