+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Orion] +
Orion: "I am happy because I won, but I am slightly disappointed because I feel that I did worse than my usual performance."
I am thankful towards EffOrt and By.Snow.
I am thankful towards EffOrt and By.Snow.
Orion defeated ACE's Reach, claiming his first Proleague win in the match held against ACE, for the Shinhan Bank Proleague 08-09 Round 4 Week 1 Day 3, held on the 13th of April at the Yongsan e-Sports Indoor Stadium.
The following is the interview with Orion.
- Your thoughts on your first Proleague win?
▲ I am happy that I won, but I am slightly disappointed because I did not perform as well as I perform during practice, which is because it has been a long time since my last televised match.
- Your opponent was Reach, who was so close to his 100th Proleague win. Did you feel pressured?
▲ I was not pressured by my opponent, instead I was more pressured by myself.
- How was today's game?
▲ When I first started playing on this map, it was very difficult, but Effort helped me with all the build orders and stuff. But on the actual day of the game, I did not perform as I hoped, so I am very sorry towards him. I will practice even harder to put on a better performance the next time I get to play.
- How did you practice?
▲ Effort was the observer during my matches, and he pointed out many of my mistakes. He is younger, but I think he plays better than me, so I learnt a lot from him, and I am grateful towards him. Also, By.Snow almost took the entire responsibility of helping me practice, so I would like to say thanks to him.
- Any mind made up?
▲ There is still the preliminaries and more Proleague matches up ahead, so I will practice even harder so that I will have another chance (at playing).
- Any final words?
▲ I am thankful towards my coaches for giving me this opportunity to play.
+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Much] +
Much: "I think YellOw hyung was too nervous."
I was at an advantage, but I did not let down my guard.
I was at an advantage, but I did not let down my guard.
CJ's 'captain' Much defeated ACE's YellOw, claiming his first victory for Round 4 in the match held against ACE, for the Shinhan Bank Proleague 08-09 Round 4 Week 1 Day 3, held on the 13th of April at the Yongsan e-Sports Indoor Stadium.
The following is the interview with Much.
- Your thoughts on your first Round 4 win.
▲ Well, it is good. I have nothing else to say (laughs).
- Your opponent was YellOw.
▲ He's a player I really like, but when I heard about how much effort he has been putting into practice, I got slightly nervous.
- You managed to kill two drones with just a probe.
▲ I had the thought that "YellOw hyung must be too nervous, and hence is losing his focus". I think I was slightly lucky, and even though I was at an advantage, I did not let down my guard.
- You played on one of the new maps (God's Garden). How did it feel?
▲ I think that I played after fulling understanding the map. At first, I thought Protoss would be more favorable on the map, but as the Zergs came to slowly understand the map more, it was difficult to play against them. In the end, the better player wins.
- Your team managed a perfect victory.
▲ Orion managed to get his first Proleague win after entering our team. But content-wise, his play was not very good. I hope that he gets used to the new maps faster, and show an even better performance the next time he plays.
- Anything you would like to say?
▲ It was difficult to practice on the new maps, but EffOrt, Hydra, Devil and MIsO_Lt are among the players who helped me out greatly. I am very thankful for that.
And finally...
+ Show Spoiler [Interview with sAviOr] +
sAviOr: "I am even more confident on the new maps."
I started off Round 4 well, so I think everything will go well.
I started off Round 4 well, so I think everything will go well.
CJ's sAviOr claimed a victory after completely overwhelming his opponent Anytime with great play in the match held against ACE, for the Shinhan Bank Proleague 08-09 Round 4 Week 1 Day 3, held on the 13th of April at the Yongsan e-Sports Indoor Stadium.
The following is the interview with sAviOr.
- You started off Round 4 well.
▲ It has been a long time since I last played after the end of the Winner's League, and also being the first match of Round 4, I felt nervous. But I thought to myself that I should try even harder, and the match progressed smoothly as I planned, so I feel that the rest of my Proleague matches will end up well too.
- How was today's game?
▲ My previous losses against Protoss were mainly losses that happened even when I was at an advantage at the start. As I was confident, I played as safe as possible today.
- You were at the losing end in your all-time matches against Anytime by 0:3.
▲ I did not pay much attention to that, but after today's game, I feel that I have somewhat made up for that difference, and hence I am quite satisfied. I even felt like placing hatcheries all over the map because of that.
- Is it because of the new map that you played so peculiarly?
▲ Because it is a new map, how you understand the map will produce a different outcome. According to how you understand the map, everything might change, so I played so that everything will turn towards my favor. Even during practice, if I played in the same manner (as how I played today), then it usually ended up in a 20~30 minute macro-orientated game. It was physically tiring.
- How do you feel about the new maps, especially since this is just the start of the new round? Also, do you have any maps that you like?
▲ I am confident in my skills, so personally speaking, I welcome the new maps. But I need to play more so that I can truly understand which map favors which race. For now, there is no map I specifically like or dislike.
- There has been word going around about the map being called 'Ma-utsider' (Ma Jae Yoon + Outsider)...
▲ Oh.. another new nickname? (laughs)
- Do you know about 'Kim Nickname' Kim Tae Gyun (PerfectMan)?
▲ Of course I do. That player probably has more nicknames than me. Also, a few days back, I saw an interview with Son Ah Seob (A Korean baseball player for the Lotte Giants) where he mentioned me, and I felt that it was an honour for me. I too would like to meet up with him, given the chance.
- Anything you would like to say?
▲ As I mentioned earlier, I played many macro-orientated games during practice, but I only practiced with Nbs. I am grateful towards him who always agreed to be my practice partner.
