This is the ongoing story of American undead. The story will flow primarily based on the most interesting ideas in the thread, so chip in with your opinion as to what should happen next, who should speak, what priorities they hold, etc. I'll try to update it on a regular basis.
For our purposes, the Senate in question consists of current members. If any of the current senators die in office, they may or may not join the undead - we'll see if it gets that far. The emphasis is on the undead anyway.
1.
Upon October thirty-first, The U.S. Senate was in session; A grim, malodorous procession Had come to slake eternal thirst For justice! It is rather quaint To hear a live undead complaint.
The 'sucker, regal in his cape, Was flanked by skeletons afire. Behind, the zombies voiced their ire, Their mandibles with rot agape. Who is ignored, and who is heard? Our Senate gets the final word.

Late compunctions from its beak, "Caw, caw, fatuous caloric was more truth than Negro's hate. You seek victory pyrrhic. When will your anger abate?"
The skeletons were deaf, or feigned so. Their eyes hollowed of forgiveness. Now, in death, the man, now a creature, must answers his sin with sin.
