couple of days back i got a bsod that said "IVQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" i ignored it and hoped it was a once off thing, but after the restart i got a "MEMORY MANAGEMENT" bsod.
ran memtest86 and it came up with like 600 errors after 9 hours of testing. i figured one of my ram sticks must have died or something, so i opened my laptop up, took out one of the ramsticks (RAM A), and did a 3 hour test on the other stick (RAM B). 8 passes. took RAM B out, and did a 10 hour test on RAM A, no errors either. both the tests were done on the same slot (SLOT 1).
i thought it might be a ram slot error or something, so i put both sticks back in (but in reverse order). in the first test (that came up with errors), RAM A was in SLOT 2 and RAM B was in SLOT 1, but now i have RAM A in SLOT 1 and RAM B in SLOT 2, and 45 minutes into the test, 1 pass and no errors. the first time, i got 12 errors in the first 3 minutes.
so the question now is, what is wrong with my laptop. just a RAM seating issue? are my RAM sticks fine, or should i do more testing on RAM A, since RAM A was only tested for 3 hours.
thanks for the help.

maybe blow out the slots with some compressed air
the only issue i can think of, is possible overheating
also maybe run memtest longer, ive had some units that error after 15 hours

I think that it only makes sense to run the memtest for longer if you keep your computer on for longer. Keeping it cool is always a good idea, but i'm not sure if that's going to be the solution to the problem. Never discount the software side- I know that the memtest in general is a good idea, but since you've run it extensively with passes, I'de try either reformatting//borrowing someone elses hd to see if it's just a software problem.

thanks for the help guys. i ran the memtest for another 4 hours and there weren't any errors there. i had previously contacted fujitsu support and told them about my problem and they told me they'll come collect my laptop from me for servicing that'd take 3-4 days. do you think i should still send it in for repairs (ie, is it still likely to bsod), or should i contact them and tell them i'm fine, then get it serviced some other time. the exams are coming, and i'll have a lot to catch up on if i don't have my laptop for 3-4 days.
