Regarding the situation with Dandy, unfortunately we got information from him that he simply fell asleep yesterday, there was no emergency situation which explained his absence. I just want to highlight that we had ~1500 live viewers, English, Spanish and Russian language casters as well as players, Bonyth and Dewalt waiting for the match to happened. That just shows huge lack of respect for our work and time, I'm very disappointed and out of words, that's just sad. Dandy will be banned for the two seasons of BSL (20 and 21). Also from next seasons we will add the rule, that if someone does not show up he's deprived of the prize winnings.
Despite this situation being sad, we are moving forward and continue BSL19 journey! There are only 6 players left, who will advance to the WB Finals ? cRoSs vs Zhanhun & Dewalt vs Loser on Saturday 18:30 CET Mihu vs Bonyth & Sziky vs Loser on Sunday 18:30 CET`
That's unfortunate. A little funny in an absurd way to oversleep your match (set an alarm or something?), but mostly just sad for the organizers, players and viewers :/

CET 6:50 PM was the start of Mihu v.s. Dewalt, and the 4 games averaged ~20 mins each, so that comes to a total of 80 mins, so Bonyth v.s. Dandy should start around CET 8:10 PM, which is 2:10 PM Peru time. Who falls asleep at that time of day, knowing that he has commitments coming up?
Now realizing that CET 6:50 PM is 1:50 AM Beijing time, shall we appreciate the fact that neither Zhanhun nor Mihu "accidentally" fell asleep, and played through the bo5 series until 2~3 AM local time?

If you miss your match, your opponent gets a walkover. No issue with that. That's a tournament standard. Never in my life have I seen someone get a 2 season ban for missing a match LOL. But hey, that's foreign BW in 2024

Stop be toxing, you don't know everything about that. I suppose he didn't even apologize ( he did with me many times not showed up without said a single sorry...) he deserved this.

I agree with bochs that showing up to play your match is a commitment. I'm glad (hopefully) nothing serious happened to Dandy and he is okay, this is the most important thing. However, if you don't have a good reason to miss your games and you keep a lot of people waiting without an explanation, it's normal to suffer consequences.
