anyway i honestly dont have high hopes for us this season. ten hag has shown that he wont budge from his tactics no matter how shit the results are, and i dont think ugarte is at the level of genius that ten hag wants from his single pivots. 3 games in and were already looking like last season Madness that, your fkn man utd, the biggest club not called real madrid in world football!! How cant you afford that, plus you also bought in de ligt before hand too though, surely was more needed to buy ugarte first. Oh well, ten haag has until november to save his job imo. I think he’s already done, it’s just a matter of time.
If United had gradually been improving, and you could see what was building, incremental improvement. Instead they’re like some flatlining stock that occasionally has a big peak or trough here and there.
People forget that Pep finished what, fourth in his first season at Man City? Whatever the placement was, but you could see exactly what he was trying to do. Klopp didn’t work miracles overnight, but you could see what he was trying to do.
Hell even Solskjaer at United, before he had Ronaldo thrust on him and people complained about his tactics. Solid, counter-attacking team. A bit too limited to win a league IMO, but I saw a plan there.
They’re not a ruthless pressing machine, they don’t dominate the ball. They frequently aren’t a great, rapid counter-attacking side either.
The odd trophy aside with Ten Haag I just don’t see the plan part. Perhaps recruitment are also to blame and it’s not him alone and that’s unfair
Sadly Minibat took after his step dad and chose United as his team, I can’t imagine it’s a fun time but at least he’s not a glory hunter! At least my brother supporting Spurs he can bask in them being a perpetually underperforming underdog, and the football is a good watch!
I just don’t understand their recruitment, at all. Hjoland [sic] is clearly pretty talented, but he’s very raw and it was always going to be tough to be the focal point for such a big club. Then they go and buy another talented, raw forward for big money this summer? Just one example.
There’s a new development in the last year or two with the Saudi league too. Where before, top players close to the peak of their powers wouldn’t move to a club outside the Champions League, increasingly they are.
Why don’t United sprinkle in a few of those types? Sure you’re talking big moolah, but they’re spending plenty as it is!
When you have a player like Marco Verrati leaving European football when he’s close to the peak of his powers, there’s worse punts you could make.
Not just United but how on Earth did Oshimen end up on loan at Galatasaray!

yeah the first year of ten hag was kind of decent. you could see we were playing very high up the pitch and counter pressed aggressively too. didnt always work but you could part of something he had been trying at ajax. then starting from the 2nd season until now, you dont know wtf the team is doing anymore. suddenly his previous tactics arent suited to the players here, so hes doing something else, but its just shit. we get dominated in midfield by literally every team, cant play out from the back because our midfielders for some reason cant find their positions even when we play 3 of them AND we often invert a fullback (so we have like 4 or 5 in midfield sometimes), and then we struggle to score because rashford is in the worst form of his life, hojlund is still too inconsistent/injured and antony is dogshit.
the current set up needs literally prime busquets to get going. theres so much importance placed on the 6 position because we never seem to play a double pivot and whoever is playing in the 8/8 or 8/10 positions dont position themselves properly to link with the pivot and play through the middle. casemiro and sometimes mainoo is basically expected to carry the ball forward every time, and thats where all of casemiros mistakes come from. guys looking to make passes because he doesnt want to dribble forward (and he shouldnt be), but theres no where to pass and he just either makes a bad pass or holds the ball too long.
im usually pretty against sacking managers but tbh i wouldnt be bothered at all by ten hags sacking. 2 trophies are great but cup runs always need a bit (or a lot) of luck and we had it. the important thing is whether we are actually improving as a team and we arent. on top of that ten hag has had the benefit of bringing in most of the players he wanted and i dont like a couple of his signings. the way he treated de gea was despicable and onana isnt fit to lick de geas boots. antony is a shitshow and malacia is our new phil jones. fking hell

Osimeh went to gala to avoid staying 6 months grounded at napoli.
He wanted to much it seems so that is why the 2 biggest spenders this window were turned of.

Thats honestly not the most worrying part of that devblog...
That entire blog (and previous communications as well) reeks of of "We are not getting the engine change done in time" and it doesn't sound like that pushback of the release will do much to solve this.
They are working on this engine swap for 3 years now... And them being forced into that kinda strict annual release cycle means in the end they will just push out some game... Certainly won't preorder it this year and wait for the honest feedback and check again at xmas... And finding honest feedback will also be tricky this year, when it is already obvious that there will be a culture war in the reviews regarding women's football that will overshadow everything else.

To me FM is a product to be bought every 3 years only and not on a year by year basis.
With that time gap whenever you get the new one you actually see improvements and/or new features instead of that feeling that you are mostly paying for a transfer update.
Based on the above im lucky this is not the year for me to buy this.

Some versions of FM were in the xbox game pass so you could try it out for cheap before buying but no international management is sad.

Normally I'm not interested in Nations League but this time I'm actually quite curioushow our squad does without Kroos, Neuer, Gündo and Muller

Have you ever played "Anstoß"/"On the Ball" 3? It's still getting database updates from fans and is just a better game. FM was alwaysy a ripoff, i'm not paying for a database update sold as a new game.

Ronaldo’s reaction to his 900th goal neatly encapsulates why he’s been a detriment to various teams for at least 5 years
I actually really enjoy international football but this window feels kinda ill-timed, we’ve had a big tournament over the summer, we’re only just getting back into the swing of things and boom, intentional break!

What did he do? I just came back from vacation, didnt they win vs Kroatia?

I only saw him celebrating pretty emotionally, which is probably fine on its own. Obviously CR7 may be more interested in personal milestones than team's success sometimes, but I think the celebration itself was quite okay considering it's likely one of the last milestones he's going to hit in his career. A lot of other stuff he does I don't like, but I think I'll let the celebration slide this time.
There might be more to this though, I only saw some video clip of the goal and some of the following celebration.

Historic: San Marino has just won their first tournament game! 1-0 vs Liechtenstein!
And given their group with Gibraltar and Liechtenstein, more historic greatness can be expected from those teams :D

It makes it a bit embarrassing and aggravating to observe. And I’m a neutral, I imagine it makes some Portuguese fan’s heads explode!
He was only within touching distance in this time frame of such a milestone by farming up the Saudi league, where he similarly indulged in ridiculous celebratory outpourings.
I like to see emotional outpourings, don’t get me wrong just everything else surrounding it irks me.
Congrats to San Marino on a more positive note!

Well Ronaldo was not in the S11, Portugal losing to Scotland and now hes scored the winning goal.
Dont be hating on Ronaldo

And the answer is: Incredibly well Though the only real questionmark IMO was how to replace Kroos. Groß got that covered for now and with Stiller and Pavlovic on the rise I don't doubt we got that covered for the future

well Hungary really fell over and just let Germany come.
If you give Musiala and Wirtz space and they are able have to fun then they will cause havoc.
|
They are really talented and so young still, I am certain both will get even better over time. I think germany has what it takes to be WC in 2 years if they continue to develop like that.

Dont be hating on Ronaldo Thomas Tuchel would like a word!
It’s not hating on the guy, he’s one of the greats and he can still do a job.
The whole circus around him at this stage is ridiculous, chasing pointless additional records is ridiculous and his fanboys and fangirls take the ridiculousness to new heights.
He’s done next to nothing in two international tournaments in a row, is it really wise for Portugal to be persisting with him now if he’ll be in his 40s by the time the next one rolls by?
If Portugal was some footballing minnow who had miraculously produced a Ronaldo, yeah sure keep playing him in the absence of able deputies.
One can still admire the guy as a footballer while making these observations. Hell, it’s not all Ronaldo’s fault either.

Germany don’t have quite the depth front to back of some other nations, on the flip side they do have a coach who’s in demand in elite club football, which most other nations don’t have
