Disappointed that SoulKey didn't make infested terrans when he was ahead, or maybe he never thought he was and wanted to play super safe. Also, disappointing play from JyJ in the last match. He was floating on 2k+ minerals at some point after taking the center and should have capitalize on his position to control most of map. Put more turrets, lay mines, float buildings to uncover blind spots. La Campanella has a lot of blind spots behind the wall which is great for air units to hide under the fog. Glad that we don't get to see a TvT in the semis. Another TvZ is always great to watch. He wasnt that much ahead and was rather busy with controlling everything else in such extremely multitask demanding game rather than trying stuff with infested terrans that will probably wont work. 2k+ minerals in such insanely multitask demanding game, nothing to be ashamed. He was actually quite close few times to take over the game (and whole match) for himself and in the end just lost to a better player at that point. I still predict Soulkey taking over the whole thing, that guy is insanely good and performing amazingly recenly (daily proleagues, race wars etc..).

Game 5, worth watching, but wasn't close at any point. JyJ never seemed to be in a position to do anything. I can only imagine that he had some kind of timing plan, but SK taking island third messed that up, or something?

Also I guess the push into the factories came just in time. Also he forced JyJ to use up his irradiates on them, which allowed his lurkers and defilers to reach the natural.

I still predict Soulkey taking over the whole thing, that guy is insanely good and performing amazingly recenly (daily proleagues, race wars etc..). And that's why he lost because he couldn't attack the queens hiding above the walls or see overlords coming. When they showed JyJ's minimap, you can't see any red dots and a lot of darkness around the center. His scans were limited so he needed to float buildings to those areas to unveil the fog, especially on that map where air units can hide and do a hit and run. Flash and Fantasy would rig the entire map with turrets, mines, and float buildings to chokepoints in mech v zerg to counter queens and drop plays. Maybe I was expecting too much of JyJ, who won the previous ASL. SoulKey definitely played better in the last much but they were pretty close throughout the series. The infested terran was a wishful thinking since we rarely see it in pro scenes, but most pros would rather play safe since a lot was on the line. ZerO/Queen was the one of the few who have used them in the past in a pro match. SoulKey has a good chance of winning it all if he beats Rush, which imo, his toughest opponent to face. Rush is a TvZ specialist so it's no easy task.

Rush is a TvZ specialist so it's no easy task. I think he'd have a pretty tough time against Mini. SoulKey usually wins in the mid to lategame, since his micro isn't really his strength. But Mini will have killed SoulKey and/or himself before that point. Edit: And if he gets ZvZ finals I would definitely not consider him the favorite. He'd only be a huge finals favorite vs Sharp, which I just can't see happening, much as I love Sharp.

Well played by JYJ but can't say I'm sad to see Rush vs SoulKey in the semis. This is shaping up to be a really dramatic ASL. After a lackluster ro24, I'm pretty stoked about it. Now, Mini, take your vitamins! We need you in the ro4!

But SK got great BO advantage in g3 and played really well in g4. Game 5 was super fun to watch and SK played well but I must say JYJ put on a pretty lousy display of mech: 0 spidermines ALL GAME? No vessels? JYJ your SK terran is S-class just stick to that lol Yeah mech with no spider mines and then no vessels seemed really weird, just tanks and Goliaths, unusual build choice. Still, great final game and delighted at the result. I knew it was unlikely but really disappointed we didn't see an Infested Terran. I would take a ZvZ final over a TvT, at least I'd watch the former...

Soulkey played great on game 1, JYJ mindgames and execution was just a bit better. Both showed an amazing performance right off the bat.

The upstart terran got lucky with all those zerg groups, nothing more. Soulkey deserved this victory a thousand million times more than JYJ! In my opinion JYJ has to prove himself significantly more in order to be considered ''championship material''. I doubt he would win a best of 7 series even vs. Best or Mini, and Snow would plow him casually 4-1 like nothing. If SK wins ASL16, he will be a double SC champ and SC2 champ - equaling Rains feat. Well done SK!
