But Ample 2-0ing Queen (and Light getting bested by Effort multi-tasking out of his mind the day before) definitely left my and many a mouth agape.

@TMNT - weren't Royal and JyJ the biggest grinders on ladder before they won their ASLs? Are Z players training enough, or are they're relying on old glory?

But that 'practice hard enough' thing is just a myth. All that amount of games and their TvP is still weak especially JYJ. How do you explain that huh?

Although JyJ was trying some Goliath shenanigans back in the day. I won't deny that the Valk fix that came with Remastered is quite something. Then again, Bisu had said that Blizz should never fix Dragoon pathing because it would break the game.

Happy to be corrected on any of the details. edit: Found an answer on Liquipedia: Ranged attacks normally create a single bullet sprite that is removed shortly after reaching the target, and some other things like SCV sparks are also bullets as well. If there were 100 bullets on the map at once, or 80 bullets created specifically by Valkyries, then when a Valkyrie attempted to create a new bullet, it would fail to do so. This means that the Valkyrie would not create a rocket, and thus the attack would effectively do nothing. Since Valkyries create large numbers of bullets on their own, even a few can quickly reach the cap when there is other activity, such as units firing and SCVs or probes mining. In long 1v1s and especially in team battles, this cap prevented Valkyries from being used where they would be most valuable - when there are large groups of air units. However, that patch included an update to the limit on bullets in a single game, in Patch 1.21.0 the sprite limit was greatly increased, including an increase of bullet limit to 200, though Patch 1.21.3 doubled that limit again to 400. https://liquipedia.net/starcraft/Valkyrie This makes it sound like any sort of attack animation counted as a bullet? But it was 100 for all units, 80 for valks ... confusing. Not sure how many valks you could actually safely build in TvZ before the "fix".

Yeah, I do remember both Fantasy and Flash using Valks in TvZ in the KeSPA days. A small handful of Valkyries always seemed to shoot just fine in the context of 1v1 TvZ. (More than a handful were never needed... even just three or four Valkyries, with M&M support, was already game over against pure Mutalisks.) I'd be interested in knowing if the increased sprite limit had any practical effect on TvZ balance.

Also, if they bug out in the most important moment, or they have the potential to bug out, that makes them extremely unreliable.

I could not believe the drones jumping over the ramp LOL. Secondary highlight goes to the back and forth winners game. Group lowlight also goes to Queen for sniping 5 Valks and then just getting busted anyway. I picked Ample (and Queen). My reasoning was that Queen is the best player in the group, Ample's TvZ is solid, Jaedong out of shape and Sharp hasn't been good in a while. (A solid 50%...)

I am hoping JD goes through with Ample but it's more likely Queen. Sharp is good and we all love Sharp, but wouldn't expect him to get out of this group. You got me RogerChillingworth I don't give him enough credit, I agree
