Because he hates streaming and only loves the 3 tournaments Blizzard is paying Afreeca to host every year.

is it so unbelievable to take fantasy at his word when he says he still cares? don’t be so bitter

The situation is pretty clear: He wanted to stream SC2 full-time and participate in tournaments and both of those endeavors were not sustainable enough so he had to switch to a real job. That's the gist of it.

Fuck off Fanta, you were off for 10 years and you think you can beat pros who are post KeSPA pros that grind thousand games and gave everything? I didn't miss you. Larva has a beautiful wife, a beautiful child, and an ASL Championship. Fantasy has crying complex. I'm sure larva doesn't need to be defended. But thanks for standing up for the champ

But thanks for standing up for the champ How do you get Fantasy having a ‘crying complex’ from that? Guy was a great BW player, wanted to stretch himself into a new game in SC2, is enjoying what he’s doing now, and doesn’t want to be a BJ for the same reasons I’d never want to be a BJ (if I had the skills) Seems pretty happy with his lot, I don’t think one, probably jokey comment makes out that he’s some moaner who thinks he’d be smacking people around in BW and is jealous of the money they’re making or whatever, given everything else he said

In regard to SC2, BW, being a Streamer and whatever path he choose, I must assume economic pressure plays a major role how to continue. Most of them played games all their lives, so what do you do after military service is over and need to make a living. I assume some of them simply are trapped in a way. Kind of a tangent, but I am always thankful when my favorite BW players managed to move on and are not stuck in this 'retirement'-scene forever.

Years later I really admire his style and innovations. He was seriously fun to watch. And talented. GG

Maybe Fantasy though that Larva is still the same dishwasher he was. Maybe Fantasy didn't get the memo that Larva is now an ASL champion? Of all the zergs to name, he had to pick the previous champion hahahaha. That said, I'd be very impressed if he is able to prove his point. He can't possibly understand his own motivations and decisions all too well. So lets not put too much weight on his words, we should instead make up our own version of him in our heads. hahahahahahahhaha

Maybe Fantasy knows Larva is an ASL champion (really crazy thought, I know). Maybe Fantasy is happy for Larva, his friend and former teammate. Maybe Fantasy made that joke as a way of playfully paying respect to Larva, someone who used to be way worse than Fantasy, but has now climbed all the way to the top. Making fun of a B-teamer you’re clearly better than is low class. But making fun of someone who used to be worse than you, but is now an equal, is a way of showing respect. A way of showing endearment, and like how a sign of genuine friendship between people is that they can poke fun at each other. Of course I could be wrong. We’re all just speculating on what someone meant. Through the lens of a *translation* no less. But if you’re going to speculate, how about assuming positive intent instead of jumping to an interpretation that you find “irritating”? Especially when, by all accounts, Fantasy has always been a classy, thoughtful person.
