I think that the only time I had really consistantly cheesed on any ladder was both to:
a) see how far I could get b) note the reactions to various people c) compare myself to NrG.ZaM's 5-pool only smurf
After using 4-pool only on longinus on the ID "fag" quite a few seasons ago, my answers revealed themselves:
a) B- b) hilarious c) superior
EDIT: Yeah I originally forgot the actual reason of doing this in the first place, lol. : ]

You said you get cheesed 75% of the time

The whole point of games like Starcraft are... well... you do what you can to win. And you know your opponent will do the same.
There is no agreement that he won't cheese you, or you won't cheese him.
There's a reason it's called "cheese" and is not a normal strategy: it doesn't work against better players.
Solution: get better and deal with it, or you'll never get anywhere.
I do use cheese strategies sometimes. And it irritates me that people complain about it. Why should I just sit there and let you 14cc? Isn't that a kind of a "cheese" if you sit there defenseless and pump more workers and not expect me to attack? Isn't it a kind of a "cheese" if you spend all your time perfecting your macro but can't micro for shit, and expect me to attack-ground?
|
If I cheese, it's usually because he did 14 nex or some stupid crap. I'm not going to let him outmacro me if I can stop it.
Cheese is also an efficient way to get past the D rank. 2 Port Wraith, Bunker rush, Cannon rush, 5 pool, 6 pool, etc are all ez wins against people who play too normal.
|
I cheese people all the time; it's great.
|
After reading this, I have concluded I should cheese until C- or C, otherwise I'm just wasting my time.

than TRY TERRAN you silly Protoss every retard with half a brain could play Protoss and never fear of being cheesed

i never cheesed before :/

According to my P user friends, the act of starting a second factory before a second cc is cheesing in itself. SERIOUSLY.
+ Show Spoiler +Nah, not really. But where does it end? Just do what it takes to win. If that means learning to deal with cheese... yeah.

Nah, I think I know the right move now. I'm going to quit this game, seriously. I've been playing it for a year now and while it's kept me entertained during countless hours, it also did it's share of evil, as in keeping me from studying and going out and spending less time working out.
However, for the past month, I was playing a lot, like 15 Games a day, since I'm on holidays. But somehow any motivation is gone, since there's more frustration than joy, more drawbacks than there is gain. Further more, I've realised, that in order to improve significantly, I would have to invest more time into SC in general, which I don't have.
Therefore, if anyone is interested in a free, working SC serial key, feel free to PM me and I shall send it asap.

I 10/12 every PvZ followed by 9/10 when they call me a cheesey faggot. +_+

Cheesing is an art, it's a skill. It is really fun and a thrill to put the whole game on the line, to sacrifice everything that comes down to a few moments of attacking. Especially when you are playing good players, if you can win with cheese then it is an accomplishment in itself. It is also pretty micro intensive which is fun after you played so much macro games.
|
A few weeks ago i tried to play games that would help me get better, no rushes, no cheese but i ended up with like 0-10 losing streaks... so the next two or three games i would just cannon rush some poor Terran or Protoss just as a way to relax. It really helped me.

You are my hero.

I never cheese. Well... Rarely mainly because if I want to truly improve as a player I want to improve the biggest aspect of the game. Macro. I feel that all in builds and stuff like that willg et you wins and will improve micro, but its missing the big picture of ICCUP. That is why I don't cheese. So to all you cheesers out there, I understand, it's how you play. I'll learn to defend against you guys and you learn to succeed against us. Either way it's risky.
4 Pool fails= game lost 4 Pool succeeds= game won
I've learned to deal with cheesers and I son't get cheesesd often mainly because I'm D Terran. Oh well.

If you played 3-4 games a day and then watch 2 out of the three or four replays on fastest and then watch 1 pro gamming replay/vod a day and payed close attention. You would improve. Playing alot workly works when you are at higher levels.
If you really enjoy and put full effort physically and mentally into a few games a day and enjoy it, you are ahead in the game of life imo vs people who play 20-30 games a day dreaming to improve ...
This is a sport, whether you are good or not, its a fucking dope ass game. I can't beat any NBA star in basketball or even college or fuck even decent senior high school player but damn don't I enjoy going out with my brothers and fucking them up in 21?.... catch my drift?
