I plan to organize my own small $ map contest and accept submissions. Winner would get $100. Map requirement = standard/comfortable/simple, 2-4 players, very similar to sylphid, eclipse or polypoid, balanced and bug-free as much as possible. Option to edit old map on BWMN site possible (if it meets above criteria). Winning map would be automatically included in our maps of the month pool. It could potentially be featured in the second roundrobin tournament we host as well (details about our first one can be found here
I can try to create a matcherino in case a few individuals want to add to the $100 prize. If winner wanted too, his map and prize money could also potentially go to CasterMuse and be played on by Korean progamers in his Star League sometime, provided this was arranged. If any mappers here are interested in the map contest, join our discord and engage with us in our 'show map talk' channel. We will figure out the submission, deadline and evaluation processes together in the coming weeks ahead. For now, just keep mapping with this event in mind!

More updates coming soon regarding our map contest in collaboration with Brood War Maps Net community.
Some preliminary ideas (from me) about the map contest:
- foreign and Korean map makers welcome, as per Freakling's suggestion - no limit on submissions (whether sole authored or co-authored) as per Freakling's suggestion - after all maps submitted, somehow select one map from each applicant in the final round to evaluate/play test and declare a winner from that pool of submissions - promote contest on TL.Reddit and figure out a reasonable way public members could vote on / offer feedback about maps submitted (e.g., assign certain % of final evaluation on public voting - such as 15%) - each final map can be play tested by the same pool of showmatch players from our discord who happen to be different races and ranks, such as two B rank players, two A rank players and two S rank players of different races (e.g., assign certain % of final evaluation on player voting - such as 35%) - each final map can be evaluated/voted on by map makers (who are competing in the contest or not) (e.g., assign certain % of final evaluation on map makers' votes - such as 50%) - as for evaluating maps using specific criteria, perhaps the public TL/Reddit vote, players' votes and map makers' votes could take into consideration: a) aesthetics, b) conceptual/functional/balanced design and c) technical/bug issues? If it even makes sense to separate those things out, and perhaps assign a certain % to each (e.g., 33.33% each category or heavier % assigned to one..)
If any soul out there cares about this wonderful map making event, which we hope to turn into a series (three times or more a year?) please feel free to share any suggestions or ideas here.
Thanks for reading~
