I'm getting older, too"
(Stephanie Nicks)
What is this? DongRaeGu back in the seat? My eyes are glued to the screen.
Feels like years back. Even his signature ling push.
For some time now, I play a bit of Co-Op, occasionally 4v4. Have reached 1000 zerg wins in 1v1 looong ago, but terran and protoss 1v1 just 500 each. One can say, I mostly left Starcraft.
I am not good enough to play. Never was. Saw some pros when visiting DreamHack Leipzig 2016.
Saw – and talked to – TLO. And TBO. Got a photo with me and Smix. Autograph from Rotti. Waived at Scarlett. Even Serral was there, but he was not big yet though he got to RO8. For the finals, Drogo vs Bly, I got the best seat in the house: Front row, center. There is no-one who was closer to that action. Bly got just one map, Drogo won.
My highlights in 1v1 ladder? I once met a colleague in 1v1. Normally that Protoss is better than me when doing private games, but hydras got me the win there.
I am the epitome of noobness, celebrating the smallest of lucky victories. With TB and Incontrol dead, I also lost much of my interest in following the pro scene.
Now, DRG is back. For now. But seeing him there, playing, winning ...
For some moments it was like I was hurled back all those years. Life was different then. Easier. I was not as fat . And had less worries when I didn't manage something, because if I didn't do it then, I thought one can do it later.
Can I? Seven years ago I dreamed that DRG gives me tips for a GSL match versus MC. After waking up, it took me some time to realized I never was in GSL.
But, if in reality DRG can make in back to GSL, after the heartbreaking double-loss before he went to the military service, what could I do? Not it a dream but for real? If DRG can overcome Dear twice, and SoS, to reach RO16 in the GSL, should I just accept that I am a lazy feck?
Not playing? Not watching?
One time, it will be the last time I saddle my horse. But that day is not today.
It is time to ride.
