My raw aim is very good (800 dpi, 1.2 in game) but I'm not good at all with not moving and with the recoil patterns. My brother mentioned stutter stepping and with regards to this, do you shoot the second you press the opposite key directions or is it slightly after? Basically handbraking is the method of stopping your movement by countering your current velocity and direction a bit by strafing to the opposite direction. It helps you stop faster and the faster you stop, the sooner your aim gets accurate. Probably the best way to get hang of the weapon handling with movement and recoil patterns is to go to practise with bots mode with 0 bots on your own server and then using console to type in sv_cheats 1 and sv_showimpacts 1 sv_cheats unlocks some funky stuff on empty server and showimpacts highligths your bullet hits on walls. Then fire guns at walls and see how the patterns go and how to hit accurate shots while still remaining mobile. You can sort of dance around while firing short bursts whenever your velocity is momentarily slow enough for precise shots. It's a bit hard to explain, you just get the feel for it. With sv_cheats active, there are also some commands to give you flashbangs and nades and all that stuff in case you want to experiment and practice them. You can also set the timelimit to 9999 minutes or so using some timelimit command (there's a handful similar commands and I can't recall which does the trick). Somebody who plays more active then me can probably give you some quick advice on commands and how to set up a nice environment for that experimentation. Google has some advice too, but you might have to do some digging. Sometimes it seems like I'm aiming directly at the enemy's head (this is in an aim training map so it won't be because of the internet) but it seems to miss when at long range sometimes. Does this mean some guns have a slight spread even on the first shot? There's some inaccuracy. With most guns, the accuracy is good enough to nail a headshot when your crosshair is spot on, but you can miss if you get unlucky. --- There might be some other smarter stuff you can do nowadays for practice, but those worked a few years ago when I was more active and tried to get hang of things. Edit: Was that a bot reposting? It didn't trigger any alarm sings for me.

I'm kinda sad that the CS:GO section has died completely here on tl.net with the merger of the forums. Also no more tournament threads. Are there still people interested in tournament threads? Is there any interest that we try to revive these?

I'm just not sure how many people are still interested. There wasn't many even before the merge, maybe around 10 or slightly above that. I'm sad too.

I saw a bit of the finals and wasn't too impressed but to be fair I only watched a few rounds. Tournament threads have been dead for a while. Nobody posted in them so I guess there is no interest.

NAF almost tilting after the pistol round of the second half, insane clutches on both sides.

They just made some specific tournaments as mandatory. Which I think is fine. You want some of the wins in the run to be at events that are at like Cologne level, which for me is probably on par with Katowice as the best venue. Atleast from an outsiders persepective. Ive been to ESL One NY a couple of years back and that was decent but having been to a couple of TI's when I lived in Seattle it wasnt even close to what I imagine Katowice and Cologne are like. It was a new even though so maybe its better.

Also watching liquid finally live up to their potential, especially Nitro and Elige who've been there so long, is awesome!

Maybe the econ change has been too much? Also watching liquid finally live up to their potential, especially Nitro and Elige who've been there so long, is awesome! That probably has more to do with Liquid being the worst pistol team in the history of pro CS than anything.

Good thing they just decided they didn't need pistol round anymore To the first guy, my guess is Valve won't care because the point was to make things more even. I don't think they liked the pistol winner largely being guaranteed the next 2 rounds since you usually full saved. Also, on stream they said liquid won like 70% of their second rounds after losing pistol
