Also lol at symbol going to advance with RorO out. The world is unfair. I voted vortix, because heart over mind, but results-wise no doubt symbol has this in the bag. As a side note I remember hearing that Stardust used to give something like half his prize money to charity, so he ain't half bad. Yeah, I'm not arguing Ret was actually better than Stardust. Just that Stardust was an anonymous Korean who couldn't cut it in Korea, moved to Europe and got average results. Ret was a TeamLiquid player! It might seem weird to hear this from me but actually our loveable CheeseDust friend is pretty ahead of Ret in terms of accomplishments.

I think Ret's best results were actually in Brood War.

He is naming Stardust but the description he makes doesn't have much to share with Stardust himself; Duckdeok really feels much closer to what he is saying, so maybe he is confusing them.

It feels like a perfect description of Stardust to me honestly, he was a bit less faceless since he went to more event but still pretty much the same story a b tier korean coming to EU to win there and lose early in global event, I guess he played a bit less in Korea than Duckdeok (well in SC2) but everyone knew he wasn't good enough to have success there, or at least not win tournament. It's also of course the same story as other WCS champ like Pigbaby, or Hydra and San (to a point) and a pletora of top WCS player in 2013-14 (Heart, Patience, Yoda, Golden, First ect...) With that said a Dreamhack summer and a WCS championship as well as a good number of top 4 finish is still better than what Ret did in his career in my book.

No, I am not and I know Stardust, you can leave home this paternalistic attitude. Two Premier, three major and career earnings of 112k cannot be totally disregarded. Yes, he was not a top korean and he moved to EU to have success but the results but he achieved in 2013/2014 are far better than "mediocre".

Seriously? Duckdeock? The dude who's legit known for being possibly the emotional Korean player we've seen (I'm not sure if we've seen a Korean player crying like that before or since...), you're saying he's more "faceless" than Stardust, who's perhaps best known for looking like Polt's twin without the personality...
I'd say you've got a tough case to make there really, but I'm interested in hearing you out.

Edit: Looking at the liquipedia… I don't think you can argue Scarlett over HuK, but maybe over ByuL? Idk, I'm not going to blame anyone for voting for either of them.
Beware, Korean supporters are gonna harass you for the rest of your days ! Scarlett over Huk seems fair, his agressive playstyle didn't strike me and after 2012 he slumped. But not for Byul, he was the best zerg from march to october 2015 (one of the most competitive year) in a unfavourable meta with ssl/gsl finals against a cancerous and too strong mecha style in zvt and the bases blinks (and golden armada in late game) in zvp with no real counter. What he achived in these conditions is better than what Scarlett did. I always forgot him when I think about great zergs but he is one of the biggest without any doubts.
You're right, he was a good player and was on the scene for a long time, but I think the problem and the reason that most people won't vote for him is that even though he made two GSL finals, Scarlett has made just as many finals and won a title as well, and she's been one of the best known foreigners for a long time now. A bonus for some people would be is that she's the only female to make and/or win a premier tournament finals in SC history.

Mediocre is subjective. StarDust never escaped mediocrity in many people's eyes, maybe because his results were in the time when literally half the bracket of most tournaments would be Protoss players. StarDust won first of his titles by doing 2forge immortal allin every game and playing SjoW and the other playing PvP Most people forgot about his existence when 8gating every game stopped being a viable PvZ strategy

You are so wrong. Stardust played BW when the transition hit he was in the army. He came back in late 2012 signing with an americain team named light and Moving to the us. The only Korean League he ever played was the first OSL where he lost in the qualifier against classic after beating jaedong.
Stardust never trained or played SC2 in Korea as he moved to mYI and europe after light disband. So apart from the fact that he was Korean the description couldn't be further from the truth. He streamed as M18M very early on and was faaaar from being faceless as he pretty much single handly put mYI on the map. But yeah I guess if you don't read shit about the players they all are faceless
