Now hes bleeding out the last of his moderate support for a tenth of that. Dems should have made a deal by now IMO. Not much has changed from those few months ago, and if Trump brings a proper DACA deal (not the old one, a longer term one), the media should report it fairly, that way we avoid a shutdown. If the media reported that the Dems then refused a proper DACA deal, a lot of democrats would be mad. Instead the media will just blame Trump again. I saw a youtube video of someone going out on the streets asking if people would support a DACA trade for wall funding, and they all said yes to it, but were not informed it was even on the table... Insofar as I understand this, Pelosi has repeatedly mentioned DACA for the wall as an option, and Trump and/or McConnell have repeatedly shot it down. So if you want that, the ball appears to be in the Republicans' court. Pelosi said in the meeting with Trump no wall talk whatsoever, so obviously she is sending mixed messages. As for McConnell, yeah, that's why I said "if Trump brings a proper DACA deal" ... If we are thinking of the same meeting, that was after the government was shut down. Once that happened, the Democrats took the hard line that no discussion about the wall would take place until the government reopened.
Democrats have been willing to trade a lot for the dumb wall. But all of the “offers” Trump has put forth have been created by people like Steve Miller, which effectively assures they contain things Democrats can't agree to.

Manpower, technology, and allowing people to pursue legal asylum claims (and be processed in a reasonable amount of time) is a pretty big part of it. It's not rocket science. "Common sense" sums it up.

If you don't know the dems position, it's because you're not listening to when they are asked.

All of Donald's offers would have relied on Democrats to do everything and then trust that Donald wouldn't just go back on his word after they delivered the votes. Don has no credibility because he has been a dealbreaker his whole life, and especially during his Presidency. No one on the opposite side of the table trusts him to follow through on anything he promises (aside from evangelicals who have Pence to guarantee their judges). Any real offers would be coming from McConnell and he has never offered anything.

rude much?

That was a bit rude. However, it is also frustrating to constantly have to answer “What do the democrats want?” on immigration. Their plans and policies have been out there forever. But because the discussion is dominated by Republicans falsely claiming democrats want open borders, we get to have the same discussion over and over and over.
Edit: I find the whole Ilhan Omar thing amusing. She already apologized and has moved on. But some folks are desperate to keep that flame going because they need something to go after the Democrats about.

Conservative Twitter has blown up over Ilhan Omar's use of an anti semitic trope. But the below tweet was merely a sherriffs star, and Diane Feinstein sure is sneaky.

it was semi sarcastic. the idea that the Democrats have a good reason for opposing things like more beds is facially asinine. trying to hamstring law enforcement is not acting on good faith on this issue. you'd think after all we heard about "concentration camps" on the border the Democrats would be all for things like bigger and better accommodations. but nope.

Because, that is the way I see it. ICE and the administration doesn’t get a blank check. In fact, I bet they could get a lot more immigration judges if they wanted. But they don’t seem to be asking for judges at all. They want a wall.

Omar apologized, dem leadership called her out. Trumps use of tropes still stands though. Just the media making a sheriffs star out to be the star of David (set against a background of dollar Bills in a trump tweet).

And to be like King, wouldn't she have to have been doing this for years without any consequence before having her appointments stripped?

Yes, you want them to have fewer beds so when they get flooded they must release people into the country. instrqd of having sufficient means to deal with a problem, you'd rather they have yo guess and work under prepared. and this is the moral stance. oh, and by the way, the administration is asking for, and is prob going to get, more immigration judges. they've had that on their wishlist for months.

From a book written by Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino President John R. O’Donnell:
“Yeah, I never liked the guy. I don’t think he knows what the f––– he’s doing. My accountants up in New York are always complaining about him. He’s not responsive. And isn’t it funny, I’ve got black accountants at the Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. Those are the kind of people I want counting my money. No one else.”
...
“The stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true,” he told Playboy in an interview published in May 1997.

The democrats have already agreed to everything except the wall. If the administration wanted that they could have had it 2 months ago. Jesus christ man do you not even listen to what dems have been saying this whole time? Do you just make it up in your head and go 'That's the dems position!'
