I think an interesting take is not necessarily 1v1 game "dying out" but its just social multiplayer games have outgrown everything else. I can't imagine RTS being a top like Victor said, the "right conditions" would have to be like a complete vacuum like when SC2 came out while CS was decimated. I think itd be short lived regardless. It's especially less probable since there's only 1 studio that can probably put out a hit RTS. Happy 10 years!

Plus if you look at the TL latest banned thread you'll see over the years it has gone from mostly real users being banned to 95% spam bots being banned like the guy a few posts up.Plenty of forums and mods can't be bothered keeping up with the torrent of fake users and spam so the forum either gets flooded with spam or the forum goes mod approval to register which leads to far slower user growth. Anyway my opinion RTS will never be big again because people are far less forgiving and patient when it comes to patching for balance. Also i still think RTS games work best in 2D and 3D adds nothing to them just makes them more likely to suffer from slowdown/camera view issues.

edit~ with regard to your pubg comments, consider playing an mtt in poker. it still stings even if you come in 2nd/3rd, even if it's out of 500. mobas and team games are great for casuals because it doesn't have to sting at all, you can just push it all off on the anonymous teammates and move on.

I wouldn't be where I personally am without the opportunities I had through TL and especially working with you. Keep on churning out your crazy ideas please, they have (mostly) always been fantastic and inspiring. Onwards and upwards, and lets shoot more crazy ideas over a beer in STHLM soon!
