I don't know about "new" but it is a useful stat(specially for comparing teams). We have/had been throwing out that term for what I am pretty sure is over 5 years now on TL NBA threads (before it got a little more casual in here).

Fultz was "meh" tonight. So far Ball > Fultz in every area of the game except pull up shots when carrying the ball with his right hand. Ball is a lot more physical than Fultz.
so i guess Simmons is the starting PG and Fultz is the 2nd string PG for Philly this year? is Philly really gonna make Fultz an off-ball guard when he is on the floor with Simmons? simmons isn't a PG, he is just a ballhandler. Fultz is a ballhandler as well but he has better outside shooting that Simmons, so that would probably be one of the better reasons to keep him off-ball as opposed to the other way. They will both get their turns at being the main ballhandler in plays though.

Nemanja Bjeclia is back to playing the way he did before he got injured. Minnesota's defense took a big turn for the worse when he got hurt last year. He is one of these guys that doesn't put up big boxscore #s but is a big contributor relative to his #s.

I really like Tatum. He seems like he has all the tools to be both an extremely versatile offensive player and a good defender. His shooting form looks good, contrary to Lonzo's .

It's easier to fix those things than it is to learn his great form and footwork. Being on a solid team like BOS is going to speed up that learning too.

That American will take the 4 days off and spend it in the the physiotherapists office trying to rehab. Why would an injured player play or be allowed play? You're talking crazy as usual, using bad examples as defense. "injured" in many cases is not a binary condition especially with soft tissue injuries.. you ever played with tendonitis? or bursitis? or a partially healed ankle sprain? you'll frequently hear many coaches and players say "if this were the playoffs he'd be in the game, however, at this stage of the season we're playing it safe and keeping him out of the game". what will never happen is "well we are keeping him out of this regular season game as a precaution. but if this were the big USA v. world AllStar game OR the playoffs he'd be starting... especially the AllStar game because we need Team USA to win by at least 60 points" USA v. The World is not viable for many reasons. i've named a few. As I eluded earlier, the game would not be close. I'll amplify that point further: Last year 2 non-Americans made the AllStar game and were given token minutes. So legit American players who should be in the AllStar game will be turned away as we watch guys like Corey Joseph weave their magic and "The World" gets its face smashed in. ya man, great concept. thanks for the laugh. Ross is a career 36% shooter in the playoffs. RJ shot 42% last year.. .bad for him.. but better than Ross. you had your opportunity to criticize RJ's level of play during the 2017 playoffs and declined. my comments about RJ's performance in the 2017 playoffs are still there and they still stand. When it comes to defense there is no comparison. RJ >> Ross. Which is why Lue assigns RJ to cover Durant. You're really just a simple idiot. Here's the discussion: ME: Improve All Star - USA vs. the World. Players will play more competitively because something is at stake (national pride and beating "the best" in the world, respectively), but would be a PR disaster for NBA YOU: Injured players won't play and will just take the day off to heal ME: Well duh!!!. (I'll explain just in case this escaped your moronic lying coward brain. When people say play competitively, the assumption is that you the best players will play, AND THIS ASSUMES THIS PLAYERS CAN AND ARE NOT INJURED. You bringing up resting injured players in an All-Star game is, even considering your previous comments about you watching games live and hiding from challenges when your bullshit is called, and you bragging about your scout uncle, a record level idiot love. Is it clear now?) YOU: Tendonitis. Bursitis. Verbal diarrhea. Verbal Gonorrhea, More motherfucking bullshit. Just shut the fuck up you lying coward idiot. PS: And I won't even comment on your statement about RJ guarding Durant. Yeah, that was a good strategy. personal attacks are an invalid form of argument. and USA v. The World is not viable for the reasons i've named. they can't even get LBJ and Curry to show up for the Olympics... so relying on their "patriotism" to motivate them to bring it 100% for an AllStar game which will be a landslide victory for Team USA won't work. i'm glad you're a big fan of my posting history though. being better than Terrence Ross isn't much. Lol thay guy got banned? he was irritating tbh. id rather have well argued stats like you provide here that his obnoxious replies to you. and yeah. no way american players will see all star as a patriotic event lol. its just a game, this people are professionals

this much? really? how would you analyze the sixers trust with embiid for this contract? i agree with you that he is injured and has bad landing mechanics that will most likely cause him long term injury and end his career early... this is a bad move imo, care to explain why they signed him like this?

with star players the team really has no choice. i also think that chances are very good that this deal blows up in their face.

Andrew Wiggins is also in line for the same contract, however, he was yet to sign it. Minnesota has offered it to him.
clearly, the 76ers believe they can make Embiid less injury prone via a training regimen. i'm sure they can make him less injury prone to a certain extent. but what is his ceiling in terms of durability? will this guy ever dominate a playoff series? or will he be too brittle to ever do that?

I saw your video about landing mechanics and I agree, Embiid looks like he is really asking for injuries when he is on court. But how then do you think was he able to convince sixers to pay him max with his bad habit and bad history?

wayne gretzky famously said "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take". welp, the fucking Raptors might consider getting Wayne Gretzky to shoot their 3s... feels like the Raps are taking 1000 3s a game and missing 999 of them.
so far this preseason in 3.5 games the Raptors have taken 147 3s. LOL

u still muckin' up the thread with silliness? u've lobbed at least 20 accusations at me in the NBA and UFC threads that have gone no where. just report the suspected posts and let the mods do their jobs.
any how back to basketball. Fultz changes his shot without telling the team. Fultz shoulder is hurt. what came first: the chicken or the egg? the question is.. did the change in his shooting stroke hurt his shoulder.. or did his hurt shoulder force him to change his shot.
https://www.theringer.com/nba/2017/10/10/16452324/markelle-fultz-free-throw-shoulder
either way Fultz should've informed the team. Fultz "can't recall" when he first hurt his shoulder. To Quote Jerry Seinfield "Senator.. i just want to know what you knew and when you knew it...."
Fultz has not hit a single jump shot in preseason. all his baskets were lays up or dunks. he is 0-3 from 3 and 2-5 from the free throw line.
Conclusion: Fultz shoulder is fucked. The 76ers were not giving Fultz BS rest time when he didn't play in game 2. He is injured.
Its this kind of BS that the super-soft Toronto Basketball media would let Colangelo slide by. The Philadelphia media is going to fry Colangelo if 2 or more of Embiid, Simmons, and Fultz miss major time this year. Missing the playoffs in the super weak Eastern Conference will only add to the heat on Colangelo.
just how much did the Eastern Conference weaken this off-season? i will attempt to quantify that in a later post.

First time I read of this and I must say, I find the idea that Keyboard Warrior is a JJR alt intriguing. They both consistently never start their sentences with a capital letter for some reason. And KW is the only one here answering to JJR with some semblance of respect ;D.
(But other than that their posting history and writing style are different enough that I won't entertain the idea any further ;/)

Hi JimmyJRaynor. I think your posts about landing mechanics are very intriguing. Please tell me more. Also I am not an alt.
Could you analyze Shane McMahon's landing mechanics? He's had some pretty crazy jumps, yet he's still had far more longevity than that injury prone Kobe Bryant guy. He's still going at it strong, which is a testament to his great landing mechanics.
In fact, he's so good, I'd love to see him in a dunk competition. He could do a dunk diving off a cage. It'll be awesome
