I won the winners bracket after defeating NaW-Samirai, Get.Shauni and finally NaW-Zpux. But then Zpux returned and got me in three straight games in the grand final so I ended up second. Won a Qpad mousepad ^^
Twice I had him pinned down very well after starting with mass hydras and then sniping his templars with mutalisks, like I described in one section of my ZvP Guide. However, he still got back and won both times.
The first time I think it was cause I attacked him with ultra/ling too early. Attacking the protoss is very rarely a good idea and I did it just cause I wanted to end the game - but the time was not yet ripe and I wasted far too many units and then didn't mananage to get back.
In fact I did the mistake of attacking him once more in another game but then I was already losing so it wasn't as important. It's quite ironic how I do this seeing how I've in every ZvP post I've made lately I've kept stressing the importance of never attacking the protoss unless the game is already over.
The second time he turned a disadvantage into victory was on Python, and I think the map was a major reason why I lost that. He pushed hard from two bases and openness of Python forced me to move my lurkers back and forth in order to defend both my bases, and that is never a good thing. I'd probably been better of by taking the mass sunken approach when I first failed to get the lurkers up in time for a contain.
Nevertheless it was fun to meet everyone there. Was the fifth time the event was arranged but only my second time there. Hopefully there'll be another one before the summer is over. Pictures will probably be up on Team NaWs homepage withing a few days.
