I started making this RPG a few years ago while I was forced to sit at home and take my meds. I've been thinking about continuing it, but my computer has been in need of repair and so on. Thus only now after about 3 years am I thinking about updating it and bringing the RPG to LotV standards with new abilities and so on.
I invested a lot of time developing this RPG back when I was working on it, but I never released it or did anything other than play through it myself. Now that my comp is repaired and LotV is released with what looks to be a lot of interesting map editor material, I'm thinking seriously about continuing it.
I was wondering if any TL were interested in helping with the project; map testing etc. It's a three-player map designed to be just sort of fun.
Most of the work in the project was invested making abilities like these. I got to the point where I could make a lot of abilities really quickly after putting quite a lot of effort into mastering the data editor. I never really exceeded the Blizzard employees, but I was almost as good as some of the guys who post on SC2Mapster.
Fans of Goku Firebat will recognize the Kamehameha, and some of his other abilities from the same designer created a lot of interest in the project. When he quit to go play DotA 2 I did the same thing which is part of the reason for the 3 years of disinterest. Actually there's a lot possible with the StarCraft 2 Editor but it really wasn't worth the time and so on.
There are three characters: Tassadar, Nova, and Zeratul, and I ended up recreating a lot of Diablo 3 abilities, LoL abilities, and a bunch of other stuff besides. After probably like 2,000 hours of working on the data editor and learning to create triggers for shops and stuff (which is quite complex actually if you want to build an interface), I decided to finally put some time into making the RPG. Unfortunately the RPG was too big for the editor at the time which is one issue I'll have to check on before going forward.
here's some footage from the first boss battle. turns out to be a pretty funny battle if you know anything about dustin browder and the fascination with rocks. the boss uses the terratron weapon to knock down the rocks effectively sealing the heroes into the fight
down go the rocks. this is obviously probably the most interesting thing that could happen at any point. the potential of the destructible rocks to fall down sealing the heroes into certain doom in a battle against the perfectly constructed ai of my brilliant environment and boss combat creates the most poignant experience possible on b.net
here's just a taste of the epic combat that awaits you if you choose to join me as unpaid slaves on this excellent venture and project.
as you can see the inspiration behind the project is uniminagibly perfect. beyond that the construction is absolutely perfect and the general aura of perfection pervades the project to the extent that i suspect everyone has stopped reading and won't even consider playing it.
since i don't care any more and no one else cares any more here's so footage from my girlfriend's character. obviously i don't know if my girlfriend is a real person or if she even exists irl which i assume she does mostly for my sake. but here's some stuff i made for her its obviously not as cool because the setting and context are off but here's this stuff
my gf's char has gravity grenades, conduit fields that absorb specially designed marine ammunition converting it into power. she also absorbs the damage warping the weaponry out of existence which no one was interested in so i "stole" it from scmapster and transformed it into a grenade obviously those guys had a lot of fun but i don't know that anyone ever found any of the stuff they made which is LOL just like the whole history of sc2.
check out my fucking sentry ability not even the guys at blizzard made something this mathematically complex showing that I'm the superior logical genius to virtually every programmar on earth. you can see it's fucking brilliant if i post all the picture they spin together lasso lasers together creating a scanning field detonating explosions all over the poor motha fuckaz as they run through it's fucking heavy boom bitches
obviously my barrage ability is hyper-epic and calls to mind the brilliance of the guy who designed that battlecruiser warfare map. it was super exciting and fulfilling to build this solution to all our problems and you can see that my gf's support character fucking rules and this RPG should have earned millions but then the guy who was getting the royalty free music quit because i wanted him to do triggers
the last three images are an epic throwback to brood war's hero firebat gui montage. he barrels down onto the map in a cloud of fire and then ignites the world with his dual x-buster wherein he blasts everything to shreds including the zerg and terran littering the test map. it's fucking badass and i recommend you consider playing it.
