[M] (2) Silent Sanctuary

Features:

Created for Blizzard's Map Submission Contest including creative™ natural expansion layouts and a mix of rotational and mirror symmetry.
My biggest goal for this map was to create a rotational 4 player map with minimized spawn imbalance.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like a 4p KTV Dulcimer, that's at least the 4th map I see get made around the same time with that main/nat/third layout

, myself included

. Does feel like you get 3 bases for one choke in the early game though, you'd take your gold as the nat and take the safe 3rd, and isn't that easily punishable imo.

Love it. I think this is exactly what they're looking for.

It's better without the rocks in front of the gold natural imo, so that greed is punishable.

The main nat third set up is pretty creative, though having the gold bases be rotationally symmetric will exacerbate imbalances that are already inherent in that kind of symmetry for close spawns. The design with the rest of the map minimizes it though, so I think it will all cancel out or something like that

I think the gap between the two expansions in the low ground in front of the mains can be removed. It would make aggression slightly easier on a map that seems to favor more defensive, macro oriented games. If it's too wide, you could shrink the edges of the choke instead of putting a gap in the middle. I think it would work out better.

All that said, I really like the mix of symmetry that you did here. The center expansions and watchtowers are also swapped around. It's a nice touch and will keep games fresh depending on different spawns.

hmm, maybe it's a little too similar to Dulcimer (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-maps/503021-2-sma-ktv-dulcimer) but it's pretty good. I'd play it over a lot of 4p maps

It looks solid. I like it.

I agree with the following opinions though. Would definitely improve the map.
