I tried the tutorial, I suck so much ): I thought the flying ball hits would be easy, they make it look so easy.
Anything technical I should know about the game? Are the cars different or?

Save up your boost for important situations, when you need to go back quickly, doublejump while pressing forward will make you move faster (it works backwards as well).

This thread on the official forums covers the differences in the cars pretty thoroughly. Basically, there's very very small differences between the cars' hitbox and in how they handle. Cosmetics and overall feel are the biggest considerations between the cars. And this game is definitely better when played with fellow sucky players :-)!! Join up!

I went down well below 100 rating before I won my first game. But I have always liked 1v1 games and I dont really mind losing as its all about the learning from your mistakes.

I think my biggest annoyance is that kick-off where if I go at it wrong; I'll fly too high up in the air and he just walks it in. Makes me feel so helpless.

Yeah, 1v1 is a completely different beast than the team games, and the kickoff meta is one of the most opaque aspects of the game. As a general rule of thumb, the person who wins the kickoff usually hits slightly later (after) his opponent and/or hits the ball from a lower impact point. That will give you the best chance for optimal impact. You'll also discover that some people don't go for the kickoff and chooseto counter the opening shot. After going up against that you'll be able to scout it as it happens and take a nice shot.

in 2v2, the kick off is way more important and less random than in 3v3 so far.

Here's the link to the live stream! How I wish they would stream on Twitch, but oh well.... --- The ESL monthly finals are currently live right now on a collection of Twitch streams. Shalthis is solo casting as he can and Paschy and others are streaming from first person perspective. Check it out! --- @gTank I know that the 3s kickoff feels random, but the higher levels are starting to develop really cool set plays off the kickoff! Now there's another mini metagame surrounding what type of clearance you're expecting and setting up for the trailing player. Once I get home and off mobile, I've got another awesome must-watch match for you all from 3 different perspectives. The games from the finals of ESL NA #6 show beautifully both the different kickoff approaches, but more importantly also the "boost denial" metagame. Stealing a team's boost can cripple a defense and neuter an possible counter play. In these matches, you actively see people going out of the way to maintain that boost dominance, calling it timers in real time and announcing when other players are boost-less. So cool to see the teamplay and strategies develop! The spectator client does need an upgrade though.... It's hard to see the boost game without visible level meters even when in player cam mode. Oh well, I'm sure they'll address it. Edits: numerous updates, amendments, and adjustments as needed. God I hate posting on my phone.

Why did they reset the leaderboards on goals and other statistics but left the ranked leaderboards untouched? This seemed pretty random to me and my friend.
