It was a rather warm day, and the warm up was much easier than normal. No clouds and very sunny. Once i was done with my warm up at 12:10, i was getting on spikes and ready to run. I remembered clearly that we were assigned to lane 5 on the mile, and since there was about 40 people running it, we used the waterfall line to start.
As i heard the shot i started running, and trying to keep follow the person i wanted to follow. After the first 100 meters, i felt that if i kept following him i would be really worned out in the end, and therefore i slowed down a bit, and kept running with long strides at my conservative speed.
As I finished the first lap, basically i literally stopped thinking about everything, and just closed my eyes while running, i stopped thinking about the guy i wanted to follow considering he was so far ahead. Later i found out that my 2nd lap speed was faster than my first lap, one of the hurdlers recorded this.
When i ran across the finish line once again, i again stopped thinking about everything, and just closed my eyes as I ran. People seems to make fun of me because i have a habit of closing my eyes while running, i do this because i can't stand looking at the track while running 4 times on it, it bores me to the point that i really think my time increases solely because of the fact it bores me.
During the fourth lap i passed 2 guys and i wanted to catch up the the guy who was like 5 meters ahead of me, but i didn't sprint fast enough at the end.
Once i passed the finish line i asked the coach at found out my time which was 6:21, the time my coach wanted me to hit was 6:24.
=================
Once the mile was finished i thought maybe i really didn't have the body capability to do it under 6 yet (which was my SHORT term goal), but fortunatly for me the next week will be mostly filled with practice days instead of meets, like this week was. Almost no practice days, all meets.
=================
I had lunch after the mile at around 12:50, after cool down and stretches etc... I ate an banana, a sandwhich, and drunk a box of juice. Later i layed down on my bag and tried to fall asleep, which wasn't successful.
=================
30mins before the 800, I wamred up, stretched, and went to the finish line.
As i was standing on the finish line i head a kid from another school say "Meh, i'm going to end up dead last"... I responded to him "i'll compete with you for dead last"... :D :D. Anyways as i heard the gun shot, i started running at a really conservative pace, and once i got by the first lap my coach said to me that i was behind my pace. Then the second lap i gave an all in run and managed to beat 4 guys, in like a total of 16.
During the first lap i let 2 chubby guys get in front of me, and i had to stay behind them until the turn approached;;
After the 800, my coach showed me my time and i got 2:47, i was rather dissapointed in it, even though my expected pace was 2:52. I think that if i ran harder during the first lap i could of gotten a better score...

Once i was done with my events, i watched the rest of the team do their things, until 5:45 pm, and went home...
Basically to sum it all up i went to school at 8am, official events started at 9:45am. My first even, the mile started at 12:20PM, and my 2nd event the 800 started at 2:50pm.
I got 6:21 on the mile, and my expected pace was 6:24.
I got 2:47 on the 800, and my expected pace was 2:52.
My 2 other mile times before today was 6:41, which was like 1.5 weeks ago. And 6:29 for the mile which was on wednesday.
I'll be amazed if u read all that ;o.
