For the creep cam sequence, go on the "Core Master Spreadsheet" under ressource on page one of the thread. Its on "Z.Overview" in the spreadsheet.
Basically the sequence: - Hold control through the whole thing - recall the first cam (H) - click one tumor (with control will select all in range) - Spread creep - Make new cam (-) - go to next cam (J) - etc...
Im using this with ZRM and its working great. A great way to learn the sequence is to play the arcade map "Creep or die".
Bless you, my child.
I'm going to try that out. Thanks!

PS -- You know you're loving TheCore when you find yourself unconsciously using it after StarCraft has been closed.
And not only that, but trying to adapt the rest of your programs' keyboard shortcuts to work with the tilted hand-shifted layout. It's actually not too bad

Hi, I'm a new user, paying my respects to theCore-Crew, I'd like to share my ideas with you guys, but as a new teamLiquid user I'm not allowed to upload my illustrations yet, do you guys when one is allowed to do that?
|
JaKaTaKSc2, FoxyMayhem, Core-Crew, I'm a bit excited and don't know how I should write this up, as I just finished my school semester and I don't know where we are at in theCore, so I'll just start by saying that sometime ago I started working on a hotkey setup that has been (obviously) influenced by your brilliant minds (I have illustrations for you).
Long story short...The first time I created it, I ran into DarkGrid; in which case, I realized mine sucked, so I had to change itXD. Then I ran into theCore and realized the potential for using the keyboard in a most unconventional way. I tried to resist the temptation to create another setup utilizing the unconventional benefits of theCore mechanics, (using the thumb for shift/alt/&Control); I failed and gave in to logic.
I'm proud to thank and credit you because I've used your data (as best I could), and some of your ideas, while having implemented some of my own. I'd also like to thank both the Blizzard & Teamliquid forum posters for their ideas. These ideas have been tested by me in a practical way; I experimented with TeamGames, the AI, and unRanked, to improve my understanding of ergonomics, mis-press compensation, and the game itself.
Presently, I call it SpiderLegend RRMM (yup, I'm right-handed, I thought I could think like a lefty, if only). Anyways, I just want to reiterate that it is inspired by and dedicated to all those who contributed to theCore. Of course, since there are different people, hotkey setups are subject to opinion so this might-be or might-not be what some people are looking for. Having said that, this is only my second time actually posting on teamliquid and I didn't know that new users couldn't use the img-tag so I left a link to my new Imgur account showcasing the illustrations. I'm also interested in uploading the actual hotkey setup for download; if you're interested, I'd be really grateful if you could you suggest a method, is there a way to do this on teamliquid? Thanks. A big thank you, again, for all of your hard work, this game has been a lot of fun thanks to you guys, blizzard, and the forum posters:D P.S: "The Buffer-Zone" is a really cool idea, P.S.S: It's been maybe a semester since I've tampered with SC2, so anything new might require modification; for ex, swarm hosts could be replaced by lurkers or something like that. Also, morphing zerglings into banelings had been placed on 2 buttons because it had morphed them twice as fast if I could press them simultaneously, I don't know if that had changed or not since last semester.
please check out my link as I am interested in your opinion, thanks again: ] http://spiderlink.imgur.com

EDIT: Hi hi, I know you guys are probably busy with the beta, but if you have time, I included a link to skydrive/dropbox within the link above, if you should like to see what you inspired: ] If not, it's okay, I'm still a fan and I wish you good luck in your endeavors. I'll be going to school again, but I'll check in from time to time; also I hope to catch Mr. Jak on twitch again (awesome shows), take care everybody: ]

Do you know the command for the Lurker's Hold fire?
How did you get the liberator keys?

Is it not compatible with LOTV, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks. It's compatible. If the setup doesn't show up ingame (I assume that's the problem), the file isn't in the correct directory, which is the same as for HotS, but with "Starcraft II Beta" instead of "Starcraft II". If you're not sure you've found the correct directory, simply make a new setup ingame with a certain name, and then search for a file of that name in Windows/Mac OS.

I didn't play zerg yet. So i was not aware there is a conflict aswell.
Well, I just looked at the names of the new abilities from other LotV Units and from the pattern they were named I did some trial and error.
Edit: It seems like they use LurkerMP for the LotV-Lurker since the Burrowcommand is: "BurrowLurkerMP". To give commands to burrowed lurkers it might be something like : "HoldFire/LurkerMPBurrowed = X". But i cannot find out what they actually used for HoldFire.
|
Damn, that's what I thought. Did some trial and error myself for a while but couldn't find anything.
|
Maybe we could extract them from the Data Editor like Sixtus did with the campaign hotkeys. Does anyone know how to get our hands on the official beta maps?
|
So, I know a while ago TheCore 1.0 was updated for starbow beta. Any plans to do anything similar to that with 2.0 now that there's a "full" release?
|
Are you guys seriously manually doing all the layouts with notepad or with the crappy Blizzard In Game UI? Thats such a tedious ammount of work..
Would you not prefer a dedicated script/programm ? Who is in charge of the visualizer? I do not have a lot of time but if there is a need for it, i would love to start a little side project and help with a better way or a better tool to create and manage/modify layouts.
What would you guys want to have to make your work easier?
|
No one is explicitly in charge of the visualizer, but the files are made with a script, so no worries on that front. I'll definitely keep you in mind if we need anything of that sort. Thanks
|
This supports DVORAK. *Tears of joy*
Seriously, thanks you so much. T^T
EDIT: Also, I have pretty large hands but I find small the most comfortable. Anyone else have the same case? Maybe it has to do with finger length.

Battle.net keeps warning me that there's a conflict with my hotkey profile, however, every time I check, no conflict exists. I've tried downloading/renaming a new hotkey profile, but it also does it. I've tried switching back to Blizzard's hotkey profile, then switch to a fresh/new/renamed TheCore profile, but it eventually starts reporting a conflict -- even though I haven't changed or modified any keys whatsoever.
Any idea what's causing this? And how to fix it?
Some googling shows an old forum thread where it's suggested to delete all the game cache + battle.net cache and then start fresh, but I'd really rather not do that unless it's the only way. It doesn't seem like this would be an issue with cache (as far as loading a fresh/new Core profile and still getting conflict messages).

@Coldbackice
Not sure why its doing that. Might be unbound keys in one of the campaigns or other expansions.
|
@Coldbackice @ JaKaTaKSc2
Well i have the same thing, but i think it started occuring after i playd arcade and starbow. where there are other hotkeys for new units etc. could it somehow mess the whole system? not sure tho..

From the LotV Beta Preview:
So far, we have one Archon-friendly change that we’re exploring:
When you select units and use the Alt + (number) command, those units are added to that number’s corresponding control group, and removed from other control groups.
Looks like we need a new modifier, boys.

Just in case this helps anyone, I'm still using the Core 1 RRM. Here are the updates I made for LOTV. I'm sure I could have done some things better, but I tried to go through all the new units and abilities and bind them to Core 1 ability keys rather than the standard LOTV ones. I may have missed some, but as I find them, I'll update.

Notes: click download on top and rename the file to something like "core.SC2Hotkeys" without the quotes and follow the instructions in the OP. You may want to use the old control group stuff. I shuffled some of it around (eg P is 2 instead of 1 and O is 1 instead of 2) because of someone I play archon mode with.
