But wtf is up with so many pros retiring? Is it a popular thing to do now or what? Jy was a rookie for crying out loud. This could be fake.
this is a funny post haha. jy was around for so longggggg. anyone remember when he was being hyped in that rov boxer vs jy game. that game was so intense

This is so Casy's fault. I don't blame him.
Jy's been around for 2.5 years (assuming from that boxer game).
I watched his games vs Nada they were pretty cool, first zerg I ever saw take all the expoes on each corner of the map and end up losing them all to dropships within less than a minute. Awesome.

lol yeah all casy's fault ^^

Lately its all been mostly about progamers retiring... The old and now the new. But theres no news, or excitement about any new progamers making their debut -.-
But anyway back to the topic... Fuck.

Can imagine all those hours and effort he put into practice, only to be completely dissolved by a nuke build, added the fact that he struggled in the ro32 in OSL for a long time. He's not even widely used in the CJ lineup, and when he is used, he's mostly used as a 2v2 player. Poor guy, dropping to the osc offline prelims was the last straw for him.

this is the begining of the end

i wasnt responding to your comment at all, i was ... at the fact that he was sorta promising in the beginning but as since then accomplished nothing in progaming.

Second in numbers of times used (tied with IriS), 3rd tied best record with IriS.

Oh hot damn you got me there. Never personally saw him much on though.
Well its still a shame that his team has confidence in him, and yet he still wants to retire.
Wait where you get your info from? From tlpd, he only played a handful 1v1 games in R2: http://teamliquid.net/tlpd/players/350_Jy/games
A lot of his games were 2v2s.

2v2s matter alot to a team. But I guess as a player he didnt like it himself

Result & Standings thread. It says Jy is 2-0 in 1v1 in that proleague season. Maybe that thread is missing the finals and semifinal games. But it doesnt matter much as all players played the finals + semifinals. Savior los 1 and won 1 in the semis, Iris won in semis but lost in finals. Darkelf went 1-1 in semis, i think he lost in finals. Nbs lost a 2v2 with savior in semis. Jy and mania won the 2v2 in the semis but lost the one in the finals.
2v2 is a thing most teams don't have. So having a good 2v2 is pretty much free points during proleague (check Justin's record in 2v2 in that proleague season).

Back when I had just started following progaming, I only had this one series of vods on my computer and live streaming wasn't quite as easy as nowadays, it was one of those 4 player 2 qualify matches, the players were Jju, Jy, BOXER and I think Anytime, I remember watching every single game of that series atleast 5+ times, I became a huge fan of Jy for some reason.
Sad to see him leave without ever accomplishing anything, gl in life!
|
After seeing those amateur draft pictures and all the new and ugly faces coming up in progaming, I feel this is bad news for alot of us.
|
Well, this turnover rate isnt exactly inspiring.
|
What the FUCK.
Now, seriously, some of the retirements were understandable, or arguably acceptable, but WHY Jy? He wasn't even performing BAD, he wasn't even too OLD, he wasn't even DITCHED by his team, seriously, WHY?
This sucks major royal balls, I hope there are no more coming up...I mean, I'd contemplate suicide if Nal_rA announced his retirement anytime soon...or Reach...JUST NO.
|
I think this sudden deluge of retirements is in some way related to the near release of SC2.
