Did you read this article by ESPN on Cat? It's really, really good (and long). I might seriously cry if Cat wins. I just want to see Rousey lose, man. And that isn't even hate...I actually like her, think she's amazing, but I want to see how she overcomes losing. Ronda as a winner is scary, what sort of beast would awaken if she were defeated?
As for the rest of this card: maaaan It isn't a bad card, it's just this card should have been awesome! Even without Weidman/Belfort we could have had Belfort/Machida or Mousasi! And we have to wait longer for Jacare and Romero! I'm just so tired of waiting for that Weidman fight. By the time it rolls around I'll probably be sick of hearing about it and won't care and Vitor will be like 45!
the Heavyweight Champ of the Men's division is generally considered the #1 competitor of the sport. For boxing, MMA etc.
i'd like to see a female heavyweight division so we can determine who the women's #1 is under the UFC ruleset. i'd like to see weight classes much higher than the 135 lb women's division. imagine: 2 women the size of Serena Williams going at it.
i don't know if the UFC can make enough cash to justify doing this though.

Image if you were Rory, and in between rounds your coach tells you, ok next round your opponent is going to do THIS, and then you go out there and your opponent does exactly THAT. Just imagine the psychological advantage and confidence you must get out of that.
i'm not really a fan of Rory. but, i am a big Firas fan-boy. the guy is a genius.

We're pretty much in the same boat. I remember thinking "I might cry if Cat loses", but now that you mention it, I might end up crying either way :D
As for Weidman vs Belfort and Werdum vs Velaquez, just cross your fingers and pray for no more injuries.

Really? I didn't notice.

For the love of god Dana, just sign Cyborg and make the fight. Fucking DROPPED tweet. She has so many good fights in the UFC if she can make 135 (even beyond Rousey)!
Also, I give her credit for, ahem, speaking English. She needs questions repeated, doesn't always understand, has a mush mouth, but makes the effort. I hate translators :\
Has Tweet not watched any tape on Cyborg? What has she been doing for past 6 weeks, eating pizza and playing FF7? That was the most disappointing thing since... well... Rousey versus Davis.

ROFLMAO What a roller coaster for Dana. Looked like he was almost going to cry at the end. Rumble has potential I just don't think his skills are where they would need to be to beat Jones. That being said anyone can get 'lucky'.

Yeah, that was some much-needed relief to all the MMA drama.
I actually think Anthony Johnson stacks up well with Jon Jones. In the past, kickboxers have had some success against Jones, so if Johnson can keep the fight standing (which he proved he could against Phil Davis) then I don't see why he can't win this.

My stance on the bout is a bit more reserved than that, but I do share your sentiments to a large degree. Jones is such a smart fighter though, and I doubt he will want to even get close to those punches. I'm sure Jones is aware of the power and preparing some sort of game plan that won't leave him trying to go back and forth with Johnson.

Yeah a lot will have to do with confidence once the fight gets going. If Jones comes in Cocky there's a high probability Rumble KO's him. If Rumble comes in overly cautious Jones will likely pick him apart.
I think the confidence will be established by the first few significant strikes/responses. But if Rumble suckers Jones into a slugging match at any point, Jones will go down hard.
I like Rumble so I'm rooting for him but if I was betting heads up no odds, my money would be on Jones.

This is the first time I would say don't put your money on Jones.
