I think it was a reasonable, if somewhat aggressive set of warnings (note the person you were arguing with was also warned). I'm more aggressive against bad behavior than most hosts, and in games with newbies, I'll be even more aggressive than my normal level. I think I may have warned someone else "off the record" (geript, maybe?) too, so I wasn't just picking on you. I think in games like this, promoting a good atmosphere is exceptionally important. Many people are not fans of the idea of some kind of universal hosting rule. Many people (not sure if you are in this group) say that hosts should just enforce their own personal moderation rules. Mine are aggressive in newbie games: I uphold what I think is the TL community standard within my mafia thread, as laid out explicitly in my OP.

I think another newbie game is open for signups, and in a week or so (or whenever that fills) I'll host another mixed game.

In newbie games, the point is not to punish, but just take it as a learning point as things are less lenient in veteran games.

In this situation, the rest of town has some blame in yours.

Don't claim cop just because you have a red check. You know that person is scum, just get them lynched normally.

Honestly... Yeah, as I explicitly said in my longer post above: I am deviating from standards of the TL Mafia community and enforced TL rules instead, as outlined in the OP of this mixed-newbie game. Your first sentence here is in agreement with me.

I don't normally enforce rules this aggressive outside of newbie games, so feel free to check out my other games when they are hosted and see if the behavior rules agree with you.

Check the post-game comments, geript made a very good point. Trfel was basically almost auto. You should have kept your check on Shining. You should have checked lynch bait, or someone who was inactive. Think of the cop as a vigilante, as he said. Your claim IMO was premature period.
