Overall Analysis
Game 1: Not exactly a surprising result. Katrina has been such a protoss map it's a wonder why they kept it in the loop for so long. I was fairly impressed with Light's ability to multitask, using a couple units at a time to deal economical damage every few seconds. Unfortunately Kal's play to knock down the two armories at once gave him a good enough advantage, followed by a few free tank kills that gave him the clutch.
Game 2: Now here's a game worth watching. Light seemed to be taking the lead with an artfully timed rush, but one missplaced turret and the game was up in the air once again. Kal, despite the setback, reacted in with an impressive calm manner, taking an island expansion while buying time with Dark Templars. Aside from the initial rush, Kal pretty much lead the game, using statis and recall to it's full effect. Light.... could have played better.
Game 3: I gotta give it to Kal. Although he lost this game, I was pretty damn impressed by how long he survived. The game itself was quite hectic with both players harrassing and defending at the same time for the majority of the game, with Light coming out a little better. Adding that his abuse of the middle ridge to kill Kal's nat, Light takes the game, but not as easily as one might have thought.
Game 4: Perhaps the most one-sided game out of the series. Light's mnm rush could have done so much more, especially after getting a free dragoon kill, but Kal trapped the marines in perfect position to kill the attack cold. The reaver drop that followed had done much more damage than Light wished. With a failed rush, and allowing himself to be pounded by a reaver, Light decides to throw it up in the air with 3 starports. For a minute I though Light might just have it when he took down Kal's first four carriers, and he could have, but Light's decision to stick to wraiths proves to be the wrong one. With more carriers, plenty of ground troops and a small fleet of corsairs to back the carriers, Light's wraiths pop like cherries, and Kal takes his third set, advancing to the Semi Finals.
