As much of a pain it was to get all the things working just right so that this abridge came together, I think I did fairly well on it. I spent probably 10 hours on this, never having abridged before. I had to learn how to use my video editing software, how to insert the title slides with text on them, how to best edit the video itself to portray what I wanted to appear on screen. I uploaded 5 times to Youtube before I finally fixed all the problems that only showed up on Youtube but not my video editing software. The rendering process + converting to mp4 + uploading to Youtube each time took about 45 minutes combined.

For this abridge, I chose a scene from Hellsing, episode 1. In the original scene, Alucard breaks down the door and gets shot to death by the priest’s ghouls before resurrecting and shooting everybody. The edit that stands out most that I did was having the priest blink once in awe after Alucard breaks down the door. The original scene has him standing there just looking and blinking regularly. It’s a small edit, but I think it makes the scene a little better. I also find that, as I don’t have the will to create or find audio for abridging, the 1920s silent era film style suits my needs. I don’t need to worry about making the audio sync, which would make my project take twice as long most likely.
