"Do it. Because they said you couldn't."
Fitness Review
This was today's objective:
So today was a real struggle. The day combined everything I found hardest and stuck it together. Running, sprinting and.... push-ups.
I decided to do the timed run first, I walked for 10 minutes before starting a 20 minute timed run. As with the previous day I didn't beat any targets. It seems as if I am starting to hit a cap which I will need to overcome over the coming days. What I did learn however is even when your tired you have more of it in you. With one minute to go I was 300m behind my previous goal, upon seeing this I pushed with renewed vigor and ran the fastest minute I have so far.
I may start to use the technique many athletes do known as "kicking". When I reach the 18 minute mark I should increase my speed a little and then for the final minute run as fast as I can. This method should help me continue to break my records and improve myself. Although it would be easy to criticize todays time, looking back just 20 days shows how far I have come.
After about 10 minutes break came the sprints. I was really tired from the run so the sprints became more like fast runs. Even the squats which I had started to find easy were a challenge, after completing the 10 push-ups required for the third set I stood up and slipped over, I felt dizzy and sick and so it was a real battle to finish the routines. I truly pushed myself to the limit.
But all in all I completed it, hopefully the next couple of days are slightly easier.
The Days Diet
I am currently not on a diet but will be starting on one soon. This area will go over the days food intake and will include recipes so everyone can start eating better at home!
Starcraft 2 and Stream Review
These were today's objectives:
1. Refine my new ZvZ build order.
2. Continue to practice my new ZvT opener and learn how to defend a two rax with it
3. Keep improving map vision by finding best overlord positions (ZvP).
Unfortunately I couldn't find a practice partner and just had to ladder. I was really busy and hence was unable to stream. I only managed to get in six games and they were horrific I played four ZvP's and two ZvZ's and I was cheesed in every single game.
In the ZvP's I was cannon rushed every game, I scouted as usual and pulled drones, but all the protoss players abused the mineral line positions preventing me from saving my hatcheries. They then all proceed to sentry/immortal all in which I was unable to hold due to being behind. All was not bad however despite being behind, I always had perfect map vision and saw when the armies moved and where to. I even managed to win one game by catching my opponent trying to back door.
In the ZvZ's my new build order did its job defending the early cheeses with ease, the only loss was because I threw away 30 muta's and my lead. A win on any other day but I was really tilted after losing to the protoss.
So overall all not a totally wasted day but not a great one either. With my upcoming tournament and exams I am really struggling to find time to practice and stream as I will always prioritize my exercise over gameplay.
Due to the lack of games, the game summary will remain fairly unchanged.
Game Summary and Points of Improvement
Vs Protoss (1-3)
- With a practice partner continue practice to help with defending two gates
- Re-practice the build orders to ensure I can defend all ins.
- Improve cannon rush recovery
Vs Terran(x-x)
- Learn a new safe build
- Use lings to follow terran army to avoid being caught unprepared.
- Practice 2 rax defense.
Vs Zerg (1-1)
- When playing ling/bling/muta vs roach style be more patient with engagements.
Overall I still need to improve my build execution while I also need to focus on a few small areas. Over the next fews days I will continue to practice my new build orders and learn how to defeat all the cheeses from each race. Then masters should come with ease!
Stream Summary
Due to time restrictions I am really struggling to find enough time to complete my exercise, work and Starcraft practice. So for the time being I am putting my stream on hiatus. I will start streaming again once I come back from my event and after my exams are over. I hope by the time I begin streaming again I will have my graphics sorted out and my play will also hopefully be better. By sacrificing the stream I will be able to play a few games throughout the day hence getting in more games and having more time to do revision. My goal will be to play 10 games a day.
Further Comments
I ended up spending most of the day revising and preparing my MTG deck, I am currently torn between two different variants and I have a friend trying to get hold of all the cards for me. More importantly however is the fact I leave in three days time and still don't have accommodation sorted. Something I will have to spend a lot of time on tomorrow.
I really need to improve my blogs visual quality and my streams quality. To do so I need someone to help me. I have asked before and had no response. So I am asking again, if you can help me please send me a message on TL or skype. I am looking for someone with Photoshop ability.
As always thanks for reading, ill see you tomorrow!
