Here's a story that happened two days ago. I just want to type it. I don't mean to boast and make a propaganda about how good to beat people is cause it's bad. It will have some background information too and it's going to be kind of long. It's about a street fight that I was involved in. It was not much of a fight, more like a very short beating. I am a veterinarian and I am self employed. My dad sometimes comes around to work but most of the time I work alone. So three weeks ago a guy I've seen in the neighborhood where I work walks in my ambulatory and says "Hey, doctor, do you want to buy cheap gasoline?". So I asked him how cheap it was. It was kind of cheap, like 1/3 less than the gas station price. I called a buddy of mine to come around with his car. I gave my buddy the money, it was not much, the equivalent of EUR 15, for 20 liters of gasoline. And the both of them went to do the job. About 25 minutes later my friend called me and told me that he gave this little shit the money, he walked into some apartment building and escaped with the money. I have no idea why he gave money to a complete stranger without receiving the gasoline first but whatever. I was not even pissed, I mean EUR 15 is not a sum of money to be pissed about, is it? I said "Fuck that!" and went on to do my work. And by work I mean play HotS. On the 6 of March a client of mine called me and asked me to go to their place and put some injection on their cat in heat. I had nothing better to do so I agreed to go while usually I would refuse. I was merrily walking on my way and I saw two guys sitting on a bench, they were not on the planks where you are supposed to sit, they were on top of the planks where people rest their backs, chatting. When I got closer I saw that one of them was this fellow that ran with my money. Now a little more background. Around six months ago I started to train muay thai. I love every aspect of it, I shadow box a lot, I very rarely spar but I do the heavy bag a lot and overall the two coaches agree that my technique is pretty good for the time I invest in it. I train for general fitness and fun, not for beating people up. But I can and I will defend myself, my wife and my daughter if need be. I stopped and I thought what to do. Finally I made up my mind, changed direction and approached the bench. This is weird and happens a lot. People just don't recognize me when I am not wearing the blue or green aprons that veterinarians wear, they just don't. So I got close to those guys and I said "Hello.". The one that I don't know replied. But I was only looking at the other. "You don't seem to recognize me so let me refresh your memory a bit. About three weeks ago you offered me some gasoline but I never got it. So now you have to give me back my money, how does that sound?". I guess that rang a bell because he opened his mouth a couple of times but said nothing. I was not threatening, not raising my voice, I just stated what the situation was. My stance was not out of the ordinary, I did nothing to provoke him. And out of nowhere he swung his arm in an effort to punch me, like with a hook punch. It was not a strong hit, just a wild swing of the shoulder, I mean even if it did hit my face it would not have hurt me bad. I twisted mt body on the right side and I raised my left arm in the gesture that looks like you're combing your hair and blocked the punch. Then I hit back with my right hand but unlike him I did it like I had to - twisting my right foot, putting my back and torso in the punch, not stopping the motion on impact. My fist smashed against his cheek bone, he dropped on the ground like a sack of beans would and moaned something. I was just standing there and could not talk for a while. At that time I had adrenaline rush, my heart was racing, my whole body was shaking slightly. I don't know what time had passed but at some point I turned towards the other guy and I asked him "Are you going to do something too?". He just shook his head. So I dragged his pal back on the bench and asked once more about my money. He reached to his pocket and I got what was mine. After I told him not to fuck around my job site I wished them a nice day and I went on to do my job. After a while my fist started to swell and hurt and it still does hurt a lot. I haven't hit a thing without protection and a hit against a bare bone was bad. I am icing it and even taking some anti-inflammatory pills. All of this was an emotional experience for me. I had no idea how I would react if something like that happened. I have no idea how to finish it or what to add so I leave it at that. Have an awesome day!

I miss read it as vegetarian.

Well, I'm glad you got your money back and a thief got what was coming.

"Have an awesome day!" LOL what an ending

Well you got your money!
It sound a so stupid risking yourself for 15$ though but I'm glad you got it back!

That was risky as hell you don't the person so you don't know if he has really dangerous friends . If that guy carried a knife or he with many other people the outcome would have been different.
I suggest you don't do that again. Forget the money. You were lucky the circumstances is not bad.
Glad your alive.

Glad your alive. i don't know. it seems like hymn has good reaction timings and reaching for a knife loses against a direct punch if the other is just sitting around. on the other side i don't know how dangerous people in bulgaria are.

nicely done, but be careful. you never know when you'll run into a fist fight where a guy has a knife, or worst, a gun. but im glad you're safe and you got your justice.

You're badass man xD Well done.

That was a great story, I would worry about the crazy type of gang people who would try to retaliate though (except this time they'd bring a weapon of some kind). But being a 15 euro gas thief, its probably (hopefully) not that kind of person

You have some guts! Glad to hear you've got your money back

thats why its pretty risky to hit to the head in a fight, unless you land on the jaw or something, good chance you'll break your hand if you hit with power, especially if he ducks his chin down
obviously these were just kids looking for some easy money so it didn't really matter, its just something i learned which you never really expect since in the movies people get punched in the face all day

The only problem was he was not looking for a fight and was not expecting it that the kid will punch his head. Normally if you do not have day-to-day basis experience or training over fighting against knife. If he goes for the stomach and you were not expecting it you are pretty much screwed.
Fights are messy even for those who fight alot or those who have a background of martial arts. The idea was for 15 euro you are willing to risk yourself being outnumbered or stabbed or shot ? What if the circumstances was not in his favor. He was lucky it wasn't the case.
I think every country has dangerous people you just have to look.

While I'm in agreement with some people that it's not worth the risk for such little money, you can't help but think

OP any update about how your hand is doing?

Oh, quite an interest here. Well, my hand is slowly getting better, I don't think I will ever want to punch something without protection. I mean even if I have to defend myself or my wife or daughter, I will do my best to do it with kicks, elbows or knees. As for the eur 15, I didn't care for the money. I was really pissed that someone pulled that crap on me... It's a trait in bulgarians, we can spend 500 eur for alcohol and an escort for an hour or so and be happy about it, but if someone takes like eur 15 we are kinda pissed off.

Yeah], I get really annoyed watching movies with fights recently (mainly Banshee). I mean[/tlpd] professional fighters, be it boxers, MMA, muay thay, kickbox, they all are knocked unconscious with one hit to the head or a liver punch and they literally scream in agony. In a movie a guy takes 5 right cross punches and is doing fine. Just yesterday I watched a muay thai fight, Kem Sitsongpeenong vs some russian, they were both around 70 kg. The white guy took exactly one elbow to the head and was out, dropped on the ring as if someone cut his legs from below. One elbow for a professional fighter is all it took. And I know I didn't do the smartest thing, I thought about a knife too but I guess I just took my chances. I don't actually enjoy hurting people. I like fighting in a controlled environment to improve reflexes and technique and be in shape, that's my motivation for training, not to crush people's skulls.
