Pick Order
We’re making pick order more consistent in ranked play. In most cases the skill gap between players on a team is not significant enough to justify granting the top player first pick. Basing pick order on a behind-the-scenes number isn’t a great experience - not to mention there are some odd side effects for duo queue players - so we’re taking a different approach.
All players will now have an equal (random) chance of being first pick For players in a duo, if either player is chosen as first pick, the team captain will be assigned first pick and the other member of the duo will get whatever position the captain received from the randomizer
Terrible. Only reason they do that is because they try to deny players as much information about their MMR as possible. Because obviously we have to be sheltered from the harsh truth.

sucks for people who want to main something
before once you got high elo you were one of the top picks most games and could get your role usually when you were last pick you had like cyanide jungling so didnt care that much

Lulu is in a fine spot right now, the problem lies somewhere else : melee supports with doran shield start make ranged supports look terrible (annie being the only exception). Playing sona/janna/soraka and even lulu is just too risky now and just isn't rewarding, too hard to make plays and too easy to lose laning phase and die at all phases of the game (look migxa's last game on sona ... he couldn't do anything). It sucks they didn't push the doran change in this patch, we will have to wait longer and continue seeing thresh/leona every game. Right now there is no reason to not pick leona or thresh, they are better at all stages of the game.
Thresh has been broken since release and leona has always had an insane mid/late game, the reason she wasn't perma picked was that her laning phase was quite bad because she would get poked and was 100% allin when she went in. Thanks to doran shield and tank masteries she can absorb poke and win trades easily now. I doubt the change to perseverance will change anything.

Na, I can see the logic in not letting people be cunts to each other just because one has 5 more Elo (and thus is first pick) and decides that makes him superior to the others. Obv. these people would latch onto anything to try and rub it in your face so they'll find something else, tho. I guess the goal was also to make the duoQ less easy to spot to reduce the hate.

Is a nerf. Used to be "bugged" like so:
1. Attack Crits = Statick Shiv also crits. 2. Attack Doesn't crit = Statick Shiv rolls to see if it will crit.
Thus, if you have a 50% Crit chance, your shiv secretly had a 75% crit chance.

People that think like you are the reason Elo got removed.

This is a case where because of sampling you aren't exposed to prolonged biases and thus the obfuscation, while maybe bad in and of itself, will be effective, and possibly reduce the toxicity in champ select.
Leagues/Divisions are bad because convergence doesn't happen until very late into a play cycle and so the obfuscation is not effective and worsens the toxicity "lol u plat how u feeding" "lol silver noob stfu"

It's a Yasuo nerf, yep, in conjunction with changes to his flow generation (and R range).

Isnt exactly hard to detect a duo.Not like there are 5 different sites or you could just guess after someone wishes cancer to your familty for fp your role when he called it.

why is it a good idea to give the lower elo guys priority picks?
makes no sense at all.
if we are very very unlucky this can even mean that pickorder will dissolve into "BUT I CALLED IT FIRST WHAT DO YOU MEAN PICK ORDER THATS RANDOM ANYWAYS".

I've been waiting for the Xerath rework to start learning him, so I'm excited for this purchase.
Not that I ever get to play mid, but w/e.

Quick, Jax vs Mundo, wut do? Just farm a BotRK then truck him? Or Triforce and force frequent trades?
About the duos I was talking about the intent, yeah, not the actual effect...

There will always be retards, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the system. I see nothing but good coming from this change, esp for duoqueing.

Not that I ever get to play mid, but w/e. It's why I never considering picking mid as my main role, I just won't get it enough because everyone wants mid so it'll be more productive to learn something else

oh.
I thought it was that both crit's were rolled independently and now they were synced. I didn't realize that is how it was working before.

the only way to fix duo queue is to remove it, imo.
