In their EULA they have this line: "Game Information" means metadata arising from the Game regarding user profiles, user gameplay history, statistics, team information, "summoner" preferences and other information related to the Game and competitive Game events as may be provided by Riot through the Riot Games API in its sole discretion from time to time. An API for Lolesports would be pretty cool

Meh. Well, with better masteries/last-hitting it would probably have reduced the amount of getting screw up, and better kiting/knowing and expecting that if I harass an enemy laner he'll get tagged would probably have helped the cases where I "lose" the passive for 10+ seconds because he just steps back and I don't follow (I didn't want to trade so I just took a pot shot then walked back myself). However, things like Harrier marking AD LeBlanc or Ashe over Olaf/Taric in the middle/beginning of a teamfight, or the animation starting right as I'm last-hitting the minion so it registers as not being used (10s cd instead of 3) are things that'd have happened regardless from what I can tell. Sure in some situations you can burn Vault to "reset" the mark and trigger it anyway, but in others it can prevent you from getting your damage and AS/MS steroid for ~15 seconds, which is very long. Several times while I went to farm a sidelane and killed minions somewhat fast (all within 1-2 autos from dying) Harrier didn't trigger at all during the whole wave, felt weird too, and slowed the process. Things like "wrong champion marked" can be avoided if you just splitpush, sure, but in this case it feels "forced" toward that niche, not because doing it is better, but because not doing it can hinder you. It's part of the clunkiness I felt. "Don't even try to harass before the fight starts, otherwise you don't know who'll get marked within distance and you could lack a passive."

So teams with foundations need to raise players, NA is not really good at that tho. On the bright side there are cases like l1nk in the past, maybe cruzer in the actuality? They join an already established team and that is a sure way to step up their game significantly. Now there's the trend of recruiting EU players instead of raising players, it's more of a direct impact on performance, so short term gain at least. But stories like EdWard's kinda screw the scene cause when he leave back to europe he leaves a big hole that no player can fill. Finally you have the amateur teams, filled with potential and dreams, but usually shaky organization and low budget. To get out of that hole you need to be very talented and hard working, and it is the success of these teams that make the scene as a whole progress (see C9 of course). Then there's the polar opposite in velocity and quantic (RIP), bringing half of their roster from oversea, betting on the very short terms gain with a very optimistic (and a bit naive) view on the future. These organizations have some experience in competitive league, it should be them bringing in the fresh talent and raising it. There is no incentive for Hotshot or CLG to create another team in the current state of the scene. CLG already has a team in LCS, if they recruit a sub team and invest funds in it, you can be sure that if those players become half decent they will get poached by other teams ASAP. example: cruzer from lolpro (curse organization) to dignitas. Although cruzer being good is still up in the air, it shows that "B teams" cannot exist in the current state of the game.

"Sorry I need to leave. I won't leave now or I'll lose my promo. I'll wait until we get ingame and then leave". Oh, so you lose promo for dodging but don't lose it if you leave ingame? Seems like great design to me.

You used to lose the entire series for dodging a game but they changed it to just losing that game.

It's a difference in philosophy, doesn't mean KR and CN's way are the only way of doing it. Sometimes it's okay to make do with what you have, and just improve with what ya got, rather than replacing parts willy nilly.

Low turnover rate on NA means you get a lot of overrated talent that sticks around for a long time and overall slow rate of growth because not enough talented players are getting pro team experience. LCS exacerbates this because it puts an artificial barrier between amateur and professional teams meaning fresh talent doesn't get exposure to playing against the best in a competitive setting.
