Let us start with the most common ones, usually heard quite early in the game, and move to the less frequent ones:
“jungle” = “You won't see me for the first fifteen minutes of the game.”
“mid or feed” = “I can't last hit, I hope no one notices.”
“we need tank” = “I don't want to die first in every teamfight.”
“русский?” = „I wonder what that 'English' box does.“
„mid, go gank” = “I've lost my lane and I need to blame someone.”
“ss mid” = “I see Pudge just hooked you from the trees.”
*picks Nyx * = “DAGON!!!”
„I go support.“ = „I don't need my Vanguard right now, so you get the last hits and I get to flame you for everything. Deal?“
*Selects Crystal Maiden in hero selection screen* = “We already have Pudge, Furion, Anti-mage and Ursa. Oh wait, no, this is not Drow Ranger.”
“Kunkka noob.” = “He got initiated upon.”
“Go play LoL faggot” = “Why are you playing better than I am?”
*Invisibility rune here * = “I run into their jungle and 1v4 them, OK?”
“Our carry sucks.” = “It's only 10 minutes in and I died six times already! Why is he not carrying us?”
“fuck you, where was help?” = “Diving past tier 2 as a level 4 Riki is completely standard.”
*furiosly pinging an allied hero* = “You should have suicided, maybe I'd survive.”
*furiously pinging an enemy hero * = “Let's die chasing him.”
*Roshan has fallen to enemy team * = “Quick, let's fight, they must be hurt!!!”
“Report Chen” = “His ult was on cooldown when I got ganked.”
“Report ****” = “He died more times than I did.”
“imba” = “I'm sorry, I don't know how wards/ghost scepter/BKB/force staff works.”
“fuck this team” = “They have a better game plan than I have.”
“giving the basher to the bear? lol, you noob” = “My bear can hold ITEMS??”
“commend me pls” = “I am a teaching, forgiving, friendly leader. And if you don't agree with me, get AIDS and cancer, Сука.”
And, probably the most mysterious of them all:
“ez” = “Our teamwork was there, our supports played well, our cores made the necessary plays and our carry got enough farm. I, myself, could have done a bit better, but it's just a pub game and I'm no pro, I just play for fun.”
This is but a first step in the world of Dota linguistics, where we search for meaning even if we don't know a word in Russian.
NOTE: This blog may or may not be based on real experiences. It was intended just to vent some of the thoughts I got from playing pubs.
