Yeah think your right though for me the reason he lost was he stopped upgrades at 0-2armor and he didn't rebuild his mothership core for more defense. He pretty much thought the game was one, lost a bad engagement due to Maru having good upgrades in the middle of the map, to then be on the back foot from there.
Fuck knows how he had 10 gates and hardly any army :S

<---- Says the guy not in a gsl semi-final but still he had one, he rebuilt it after it died in the early game. he just didn't use it at all, probably forgot to hotkey it or something cuz he seemed to only remember he had it when Maru did the drop in his main
Ah I didn't notice, still not using it means he may as well not have it.

His game knowledge has been bronze tier for the entirety of HOTS. The guy probably hasn't laddered in SC2 since 2011. In that game he kept referring to how far Terran was ahead and how unbelievable it was when toss won the game...... even though the terran lost tons of supply for buildings only, and toss had a 30 supply lead when moving out. When the final engage happened the supply were close to even and the composition / fight of the toss was much better, leading to the win. oh cmon! dear won a game that you can win in 1 out of 10 games.. maru fked up his defence and that is it, you can't call it unless you are psychic 1 out of 10 games? Because of the composition and supply of Dear vs Maru in that engage, I'd say Dear would win 75% of the time. Maru lost too many medivacs / units to hold the attack. If he would have sniped the nexus and tech that he did and got out with the army that did so, he would have won. you should be praying for the lost and the lonely, not arguing with eachother.

Protoss really need to learn to start flanking in those situations, especially if you are super zealot heavy. Maybe it isn't? He was about to go collosi tech when shit started to go down. If he only made the oracle and didn't make any phoenixes maybe he would've had a collosus or 2 to defend the drop and have most of his army guard his 3rd. Good point. Those Phoenixs really did not do much. Four of them too. It also meant a lot more Medivacs for Maru.
I think they prevent Maru from going for the 10 minute medivac poke, since he can't retreat without losing medivacs. Also prevents drops at around that time.
Does anyone know if it's standard for terran players to go 5 rax before 3CC vs phoenix play, or was it just Maru's choice on this map?

Not clumping up your HT's are a pretty good show of skill

When TvP is played like this, it's so amazing to watch. I wish more players would attempt these styles instead of going straight for the deathball maxes. : S

Indeed. Or hitting EMPs like Maru in game 1 when they are all clumped.

Good forcefields, good time warps, templar flanks, microing colossus.. yes I think there is a lot of opportunities but extremley hard to kill chargelot archon usually does the job great by themselves.. so most protoss don't even bother

Hmm, not comparably, no. :-/
I'd like to be able to manually control and direct charge in these small scale engagements. Than have to rely on Colossi.

That song was the first I grew completely sick of this season.

It is incredible that people prefer to complain about a caster on a forum rather than watching a fantastic cast and just having some fun in the LR I'm doing both though and personally I'm not just blaming tasteless, Artosis was pretty dry in game 1 too. They seem more warmed up now.
It wasn't that he didn't "perfectly predict the outcome of a game", rather he was calling it the exact opposite repeatedly for like 5 minutes.... like he doesn't understand the game...... like because he hasn't even played the game for years.... despite the fact that it is his job...... all his game time goes into playing old NES / SNES games on emulators, hearthstone and world of tanks. There is a reason why for the last bunch of major SC2 events in Europe and such they only get Artosis to come cast.

That's not an argument against unit clumping though? Macro is easier in SC2 than in BW, no doubt. But what doesn't follow from that is that unit clumping is dumb. I don't see the connection there.
Maru just demonstrated that you can overcome unit clumping with alot of skill and insane micro... so what does the macro aspect have to do with that particular thing?
